This is so 2005 (or earlier). Nothing mentioned there we do not know already.

I would think commiting suicide on webcam LIVE is more of a bigger thing instead right now.

While I agree this is something most of us already know, it's nice to see it being reiterated to the masses. I find it annoying when I see all of the one sided "studies" about the time people spend playing online games. Thinking of it another way, there are some parents who's children were not playing online games in 2005 and this issue was not in their lives. Now it is 2008 and little Johnny is playing WoW from the time he gets home from school to when he goes to bed and all day sat/sun. These people need to understand the issue and address it accordingly vs misdiagnosing it as an addiction.

People have been doing that for years. Just because you just read about it in the news doesn't actually make it new.

I just love how so much news about the industry is negative...

Honestly, my parents were always surprised that I seemed to know about things and read at a higher grade level so early which I attribute to being an RPG nut; or how a lot of games test people's cognitive and critical thinking skills.

For me, it's both an escape from reality and a mental work out.

XD the same goes for my interest in classical music. Often my mom will hear me listening to some orchestral piece and freak out, saying my grand father would be proud to know I like this stuff. After which I promptly point out that it's really the music from my Final Fantasy games but performed live as they were meant to be.
