I love hiking, I used to live in this really old Victorian house built back in the 1800's. It had tombstones near its property of some of the old residents. I guess they didn't have cemetery back then and just built their own graves right near where they lived. Well it was in the middle of nowhere and surounded by woods on side and on the other open plow fileds or corn. Well one day me and my sister decided to go down this dirt road to hike a bit up near the mountains in the woods. To our surprise we actually came accross a bear O_O a real live wild bear! We freaked the hell out and ran back home lol (we where only about 8-10 years old). Let me tell ya I'll never go hiking in the woods or in the mountains without any type of protection again lol. I do believe the bear saw us but for some reason didnt run after us. Then again we had a half-breed Wolf - Siberian Husky mix named Chinook that was barking at it lol.

1) Make sure the plastic used in the water bottle is proper grade. Some are unfit for continual consumption for various hazardous reasons such as promoting bacterial growth.
2) Not only does it decrease fuel consumption, but it provides a safer driving experience and environment.

4) Will also keep obesity down. This is far easier in a place with mass public transit. Use the metro instead of taking a car everyday. If you live in a place like Boston, take the T unless its late.

Yep, I specifically listed those because they all have benefits to the person doing them, too. Most of them are beneficial on a monetary level (More cash in your pocket, woot), but foot power is also a great way to burn some calories. In fact, I'd be willing to bet that if people walked or rode a bike whenever possible, the obesity rate would plummet to the point where it would be considered a sign of serious illness.

Basically, instead of simply tossing out things when you have no use for them, giving them to others. It's basically the "Reuse" part of "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle". It keeps things out of the landfill, plus you help people out. Also, who doesn't like getting free things, even if they're a bit ragged?
