I have tried to generalise the various industries for work, their are too many jobs to list but I have put general categories.
Armed forces - self explanatory really.
Construction industry - whether a tradesman i.e. carpenter, joiner etc. or in design i.e. like i am an Architect.
Scientist / researcher - Working in the science industry
Computer Industry - self explanatory.
Administration / call centres / help lines etc. - self explanatory.
Mechanic / engineer - fixing things (no shit) i.e. cars, heating engineer, mechanical engineer etc etc.
Medical - Whether a doctor, nurse, health care proffesional etc.
Emergency service worker - firefighter, paramedic, police officer, mountain rescue etc etc.
Food Industry - whether serving, cooking, packing etc.
Council / muncipality worker - Self explanatory.
Transport Industry - whether you drive a bus, a train or taxi etc.
Delivery / distribution - whether you are a postman, delivery driver or drive a fork lift in a distribution warehouse.
Education - Whether you teach, look after children / adults / people with disabilities etc.
Unemployed - Need to find work quick!
At school
At college / university
Other - anything not covered above, includes Full time Parent.
If you feel like it post below what you do, whether you'd recommend it or not etc etc.
For safety reasons please don't post who you work for and where or which school you go to etc.
Many of you know I work in small architects practice where I have worked now for nearly 5 years, i used to be a part time firefighter as well, but I was made redundant when they removed our fire engine.
as an architect I have a very varried work portfolio to plough through, designing anything from a small house extension to a multimillion pound commercial development. I specialise in designing for fire safety and interested in eco design. I am a technical architect where I am more concerned with the practicalities of how it is built rather than how it will look.
