Is there any place that streams the olympics for free without annoying cable or satellite TV account tie-ins?

I mean, I don't care that much about this stuff, but I don't feel like I should have to pay out for one month of cable just to watch it on the internet. Thank you NBC/Comcast for your typical, but expected, bullshit.

I've decided this week I'm going to buy a pack of Oreos and a Chik-fil-A sandwich and eat them in a food court, just to piss everyone off. If there are any more politically charged fattening foods I'll be sure to include them as well.

As much as I may disagree with the company and Dan Cathy's stance on the issue of equal rights for gay people, it's starting to go in a direction people really ought to feel uncomfortable about. What with local government officials now talking about not allowing Chik-fil-A to set up shop in their communities. That's not the government's job. At this point, I'm sure the company has been punished enough by public opinion. That's the way it really ought to be, short of a company doing anything that's actually criminal. It should already speak for itself that all the biggest name companies like Amazon, Google, or Nabisco are standing up for gay rights. Only small fast food chains like Chik-fil-a (which I've never been to) or has-been actors like Kirk Cameron (who I've never heard of) are still against it.

The problem is discrimination in hiring/employment practices, from a government perspective. If a company were refusing to hire black people, or jews, or whatever other minority, we'd have a problem with it. This is no different.

Oh. Well yeah, I hadn't heard about discrimination hiring practices yet. But if they do discriminate, by all means, yeah, government ought to step in.

More of a gripe than a peeve

On the subject of gay acceptance, unsupportive parents. My brother's BF hasn't come out to his parents because they are super ultra Tea party conservative and is scared to death because he thinks they will no longer accept him. I mean seriously, he is your son. Maybe I am just naive from growing up in a town with a large LGBT community...

There's been nothing but concerns raised in regards to who the founder donates money to. There are no discrimination cases being brought forward from what I've heard.

And really, employers can shitcan you for any reason they make up. That makes it really difficult to prove it was because you were gay, black or depressed. I'm saying this as someone that got canned for panic attacks. They'll say you just weren't fulfilling your duties and how many people easily believe that?

What they'll do is get you to "try something new" and then when you don't perform well, they have a reason. And if you refuse the new task, they'll just say you're being insubordinate.

I like their food, but I consider it overpriced. Their distasteful politics just give me the little extra excuse I needed to never go there again. It helps that there are copycat chicken recipes posted all over the internet now for me to try out. If only I could figure out how to copy that delicious lemonade ...

I could care less about <company X's> <morally questionable practice>... I love their food.

Whenever this statement pops up I always wonder if the response would be different if the person saying it was affected by the company's actions.
