Thats the reason my dad changed doctors. He went into the doctor one day, and they had so many people, the doctor saw him in the waiting room and told him "You can't be sick today." I'm not sure how many years he'd been going to see that doctor, but I'm sure it was before I was born. He said "If I can't get in to see my doctor whenever then I'll take my business elsewhere." I used to go to my mom's doctor who was my grandma's doctor but you had to wait 3-4 days to get in to see him so if you got sick you were pretty much screwed. I feel bad for my mom now because she has to wait almost a week to get in to see him.

My dad has a new doctor and we've had the same doctor since 1996 when I was diagnosed with Asthma. I was confused as to why I had been going to my doctor since birth and he'd never noticed it, and the new doctor heard me breathing and said "He has asthma" and hadn't been in the room 3 minutes. I had always wondered why I used to wake up winded and couldn't breathe very well, and I used to play sports all the time too so I just figured I had overexerted myself the day before. If I need to get in to see the doctor, I can get in the same day if I call early in the morning or at most the next day.

They used to do call-ins for prescriptions if it was one that you regularly needed, but they stopped doing those. Funny thing is, If I run out of medicine and call it in to Walgreens, they'll call the doctor's office and they'll still add refills to my medicine.

His partner won't write them because he's never seen me as a patient. So I said, give me an appointment and I'll come in. He's only doing 1/2 days the receptionist said and the earliest I could get in is next week..................when my doctor will be back.

Two things prevent me from doing this. First one is that this guy is a M****R F*****G GENIUS! Seriously, if you knew the condition I was in before I saw him and compared it to now, you'd make an altar worshipping him. LOL It's kind of like your asthma. I went in sicker than a dog. I'd go to bed at night hoping I wouldn't wake up. In my first visit, he figured out several of my issues and how to fix them fairly easily which made my quality of life IMMENSELY better.

The second issue, my insurance. This guy is a specialist and any time I want to go see a specialist in any field I must get permission. (I feel like a little kid trying to talk my mom into signing a parental permission slip. ><) This takes time and its not guaranteed they'll ok it in the end either. I had to fight tooth and nail to get to this guy and they don't even pay fully for my office calls or in office procedures. (There will be no inheritance for my kids thats for sure with all these doctor bills!)

Which is a peeve all itself that I know millions of others have too...........INSURANCE COMPANIES!!

I don't know why she just started doing it now since I've had it for months and it was never an issue, but my cat is trying to destroy my laptop. I was leaving it on and open since I've been trying to bazaar something for the last week or so, and every day after I go to work she knocks it off the table, lays on a vent until it overheats and shuts itself off, and my g/f just called and said that today she pawed off several of the keys that now need to be put back on.

I have no idea when she became hellbent on messing with it, and she never does it during the night when I'm asleep or when I'm home and awake, only when I'm at work.

OMG that cat is ADORABLE! LOL!! Expensive but so cute you want to pinch her cheeks! I'd say its because of the warm air from the vents. When we had gas heat our cats would lay on the floor openings in the winter.....the little heat hogs! But the pawing at the keys...........maybe she's trying to email you because she misses you!

I know she was laying on it for the heat, that part I was ok with. She would hit the F1/~/Q keys when she laid on it, so I would put up Calculator as the focused application so she couldn't really do any harm by laying on the keys. I have no clue why she started actually trying to damage it after several months of not messing with it.

The worst part is when my g/f called she mentioned that she tried to put some keys back on, put the Ctrl key on but isn't sure if she put it in the right spot and couldn't get it back off, and I said 'thanks for trying' since that's what a good boyfriend should say, but part of me was like 'WHAT THE HELL DO YOU MEAN YOU DON'T KNOW WHERE THE CTRL BUTTON GOES?!".

People that want to call about the details on their bill when they can flip it on the back and read them.
People that call Comcast about the their internet not working b/c their computer will not turn on.
People that think that Comcast is having an outage b/c their tv wont work. ( b/c it is turned off.)

People who think they are special.

Some of those go both ways, lol. It drives me nuts when the first thing I'm asked when I call about my service being out is "Is your computer on?". While I realize that some callers are that stupid, it makes me cringe thinking that the rep thinks I might be.

2 reasons why thats asked first

1. What you said. Making sure the cust is not wearing a red helmet.
2. To know where we need to start for our troubleshooting.


I get your point and have that same reaction to it but I know it will save time in the long run either with me being the rep or the cust.

Reminds me of a story. About 2 months ago my mom went and picked up a receiver from our cable company to get digital cable. I had a Digital HD box in the basement that is hooked up to my HDTV. Plugged mom's digital cable box in and it didn't work so we called the company. The dude came out and looked at our wiring outside the house and said "I'm gonna fix this because its old." That wire had been out there since probably before my parents moved into that house back in 1983. Dude climbed the pole and ran a new cable wire in the house, went into the basement, unhooked all the wiring which was hooked to a splitter amp which was the problem, reconnected everything with new splitters, and made sure everything worked. My mom asked the guy was there any charge for the work and he said "No, the only time you have to pay for something like that is if you messed it up and we have to come in and make it work, it wasn't you guy's fault at all." I told my mom to give him a tip since he was pretty cool, so she tossed him $10.

About 2 weeks later we got the bill and what happened? We got charged about $30 for all of the installing that he did. She called the company they pretty much told her that "Anytime a technician comes out that you have to pay for whatever he does." Which is a lie because not only did the tech tell us we didn't owe anything, but when my mom called to setup the appointment the rep she talked to said it wouldn't cost us anything to have the tech come out and look. She told him what the guy said and the person took all the charges off of our bill.

Yep this shit is why you have to learn to have a big mouth. My husband is notorious for not saying anything and then getting off the phone and bitching to high heaven about how "its not right". You need to speak up, especially when you know you are right. Don't let someone tell you that you are not and then not fight for it.

Pretty much the exact same thing happened to me, after them replacing our modem 2-3 times and the exact same issues cropping up, they finally looked at the wiring and realized both the outdoor wiring was loose, and the jack inside the apartment needed to be replaced. Service has been perfect since then at least.

My son became friends with a guy that worked at our cable company. Then the guy's route was changed to include our area. We did a few calls one time because we were having issues and the previous guy that was assigned to our area would come out and "fix" the problem but it would soon be back. When my son's friend was assigned our area, the first time he came out we had a chat with him about all the "fixes" and what the issue was. He immediately ran new cable from the pole to the house, put in new splitters, and all was well with the world. He told us that they are told to NOT do this type of repair and to just patch whatever is there to make it work. He said the splitters are a huge issue with the company and they have 2 different kinds.....one cheap and then "the right one". He put in the right ones he said. Two weeks later he was fired, it wasn't only for the job that he did at our house but for others as well. He did get yelled at for what he did by our place. Many of the homes in area we live in are in need of updating with splitters and cables he said, so when he would be called out it was one of the things he checked and replaced. So they fired him for not following company procedures.
