What do you download?

To clarify the poll, gray area are things that aren't licensed in your area, that can't be found through legitimate channels, where the creator approves but the company that owns it doesn't, etc.

I guess trying before I buy things fits most. Usually I only d/l specific songs, not entire albums. Music is the only thing I ever download. Other than that, I d/l FFVII:AC back during the big Japanese leak, and that's about it.

And for the music I d/l it's mostly stuff I either can't get my hands on around here, or would have to pay more to import, which doesn't suit me, when I only wanted the album for 2 or 3 songs at most.

I generally don't download things, only in extreme circumstances, such as when Wings didn't come out on PC right away and I used an XBox360 code in order to register it. Otherwise, I really don't download anything.

The only thing I download is content from iTunes. Anything else I just buy or wait until it's available to buy.

I only download grey area things, because I'd rather have a hard copy. For example I can't find Mega NRG Man anywhere because his music is spread across two hundred Super Eurobeat albums that they don't sell in the U.S. Same for Powerful T. If they actually sold their albums I'd be all over it.

It'd have to be a full album, not this mixed stuff.

to the torrents, or rapidshare <.<;

Usually good stuff they don't have it for sale in the US. That or its fan translated mangas >.>;

Well I see a lot of "safe" replies.

I personally download everything. I download games, movies, albums (but usually single tracks using Limewire P2P). I would buy the games and movies if I could afford all of them, but this is saving me a lot of money... I play/watch them and then I delete them. Usually the games are not online playable and the movies are bad quality, I don't mind about that though. I understand morals and law.. but then again, I do live in the Netherlands.. there's not really a focus on such things here

. A german friend of mine got fined about 150 euro's for downloading Manhunt using torrents. That's not very likely to happen here anytime soon.
