Honestly, when I was only at the tender age of 10, I was turned on by Shannen Doherty. She was probably the second "older-women" I fantasized about - Janet Jackson being the first.
I never thought Holly Marie Combs was that attractive, and Alyssa Milano was damn near guaranteed fap-age for a show like that.
But then the themes got too complicated for me, and I stopped caring. 1998 was the year I finally got a Playstation of my own (Late bloomer) and the only game I had was FF7. >_> The rest is history. Anachronistic fantasy shenannigans with three attractive women was ok to vegitate on, but eventually the extremely formulaic plots got to me. My wife would try to tell me about an episode and I'd be like "Uh huh, and then did this happen? Yeah, I bet it did." | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 06-12-2008, 10:04 AM | #2928 (permalink) | I Got Charged Twice For This :( Brain of Knowledge Join Date: Jun 2007 Location: Chicago Suburbs Posts: 1,589 Style: Light - Version 6 My Mood: Thanks: 166 Thanked 382x in 239 Posts Gil: 13,974 Bank: 51,978 Total Gil: 65,952 Donate | Re: Official bored at work / just shooting the shit / no rails to derail thread I watched Buffy and Angel, Charmed was way too far for me though, especially after the 2nd season, it got really, really cheesy. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 06-12-2008, 10:05 AM | #2929 (permalink) | | Achiever Keeper of Knowledge Join Date: Apr 2003 Location: Queens, NY Posts: 2,620 Style: Light - Version 4 My Mood: Thanks: 421 Thanked 236x in 137 Posts Gil: 1,253 Bank: 67,814 Total Gil: 69,067 Donate | Re: Official bored at work / just shooting the shit / no rails to derail thread I still think Andromeda had one of the better storylines of my generation (I'll be 21 this summer). I'm not going to compare it to BSG, but that, as far as I'm concerned, was before my time.
And I love Sorbo almost as much as I love Omni. After that I generally spend a few minutes yelling at people to shut the hell up about why we are doing the zone we're doing instead of the one they want or why they can't lot AF that they aren't high enough to use yet, then follow it up with a reminder that if they do anything retarded inside I'll have them D2'd.
Once I'm past that I'm usually worked up enough to last the first hour or so, from there I rely on various reasons to yell at people during the run to maintain the energy level. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 06-12-2008, 12:09 PM | #2938 (permalink) | | Retired Galka Brain of Knowledge Join Date: Nov 2005 Location: Lincoln, UK Posts: 1,063 Style: Light - Version 5 My Mood: Thanks: 220 Thanked 123x in 90 Posts Gil: 4,878 Bank: 124,693 Total Gil: 129,571 Donate | Re: Official bored at work / just shooting the shit / no rails to derail thread Originally Posted by Callisto | | I watched Buffy and Angel, Charmed was way too far for me though, especially after the 2nd season, it got really, really cheesy. | I loved Buffy (I have all 7 seasons on VHS) and watch it quite often, favourite episodes is Hush, doppelganger and Once more with feeling.

Since my dad had the cement work done, we haven't had problems, but you're saying that in a few years, they might resurface!?
Is there even a problem?
How can we check?
Is there a way to reinforce it from the inside? We haven't even done work on the basement - it's more or less a place we put all our junk. No carpeting, so wall paneling, no significant lighting. | Its extreemly difficult to say without doing a full face to face survey. instead I'll give you the 3 principles of basement walls.
structural - able to withstand the expansion and contraction of the ground and also the weight of the building above. The walls are usually reinforced as it has to take both compression and tensile forced. Concret is great in compression but crap in tension which is while reinforcement is added to strengthen it in tension.
Waterproofing - a basement should have a waterproof membrane. this can be in many forms, but mainly is a bitumen/pvc dense sheet or membrane that basically stops any passage of water through. Known as tanking this is teh only thing that stops water getting through.
Insulation - yes the ground can insulate, but the problem is you can get condensation when their is a difference between temperatures in the concrete. in basements you insualte the walls to keep the heat in the basement and prevent intersticial condensation from being formed within the concrete walls.
intersticial condensation is the point of where airborn water vapour gets cool enough to condese from a gas to a liquid. It can happen anywhere and is bad when it can happen inside the structure of a concrete wall.
So what your saying is they put cement on the walls and covered it up? The question i would ask is were the walls originally tanked (or waterproofed) or is this cement meant to be a waterproof layer (a method here in the Uk I am not familiar with)
