Sometimes its best not to be in one, less stress, more money, can do more of your own thigns, watch what you want on tv, not have to be nice 24/7, you have your own space.
My mate who i am popping 40 miles north to see in a few hours has a bitch of a gf. He only goes with her for one thing, lots of sex. she hates me, and I hate her, she is always trying to top him from seeing his friends, as she wants his attention 100%. When i visit there are sarcasm matches (of which i usually win) then she'll go off in a strop and my mate and I will sit down and relax, ahve a good natter and watch a few films/ play a few games etc. You can feel teh temperature drop with her frosty stares etc. She wants to live with him full time, but hes aware of the 6 month rule....

While there are perks to getting my work done before lunch, there are drawbacks. One such is that having the boss catch ya slacking off tends to have a bit more dire of a consequence in the military than in the civilian sector (my boss is the squadron Commander ), but he's a cool guy (for a Major that's straight from teaching at The Academy in Colorado), and we tend to get along well.
The rest of the office is a room full of Technical Sergeants (six to be exact, and here I am, the lone Senior Airman), and these guys (and one gal) are a good group of people. Then there's the Orderly Room down the hall one way, LAN down the hall the other way, and the First Shirt and Chief next to us. Yeah, pretty much the squadron command staff.
Oh well, my other jobs (before I landed this one) included loading bombs and missiles on F-16s. Not much time to get bored there.
RE Office Windows: The building we're in doesn't have any. Security issues and buildings on the flightline and all. I'd post a pic, but it'd be classified.
