So I was watching the news last night, and they did a special investigation on the Emo scene... >.< ----- Los Angeles -- The 'emo' scene has its roots in the punk rock and goth subcultures. Yeah, when you want music that relates to your personal experience, you listen to millionaire boybands organized by record company executives in a high rise. Shut the fuck up you brats, if you want music to relate to, go to a local club and listen to a poor jazz musician who can barely make enough to feed his kids, let alone himself. That was the DEFINITION of a slow news day. It's L.A. there are probably twelve reports of murder or scandal that could have filled a space about Emo kids.

As a man I must stifle all emotion and deny that it exists within me. These kids break the rules of manhood and attempt to garner both pity and praise for their common, every-day experiences. We've all had the downs, the bad days, and the terrible months on end, but we're men and we internalize it all. To be serious for a second, emotion in music isn't anything new. I think it's been the driving force for... what, say... thousands of years? I think it's the lengths they go to that speak more towards the sake of gaining attention rather than the art. If art imitates life why are they changing their lifestyles for the art?
