I'm saying get interested in your politics. Figure out ALL the information before you make a decision and take a stand on it. If you don't like something, then let it be known. Through organizations, lobbying, etc. At the end of the day, you'll feel like you've made a difference, even if you didn't achieve the outcome you've wanted.

I fail to see where it relates to accepting death, and un-natural deaths when they occur, though I can see it being more relevant to the original topic regarding the spread of AID's due to the lack of competance in the FDA.

I prefer to let my local MP (Commons member/Congressman for Americans) know about how I feel on certain issues, by sending in letters sporadically. Often if I find that if others in my district have the same voice that I have, this becomes a issue validized by that MP's need to get re-elected next term, which causes the ripple effect all the way to the House of Commons and the Canadian Senate.

This isn't the first time. The only reason the AIDS virus exists among humans is because the polio vacciene was made using anti-bodies from the kidneys of primeates. Before that, AIDS was only found in apes.

I remember reading something like that on a conspiracy based website.

It ranted on a lot about how it was a plot to destroy Africa.

Here I was under the assumption that there were hundreds of different versions on the origination of AID's. Some of the strangest and most unbelievable ones included ideas that it was a mutation transmitted by the mosquito, and the spread of homosexuality.

Personally I don't believe in any of them, and I'm not interested in the origins, rather than the cure. To often people become so enthralled with finding out whos to blame, that they forget who it is that they have to save.

The problem with AIDS is the virus will mutate very rapidly. Which renders any current anti-bodies are SOL for curing/preventing the disease. Think of a safe that changes it's combination every night after you lock it. No thieves will be getting in there.

The whole "Homosexuality" thing with AIDS is simply just the fact that it is much easier to catch from Male Bodily fluids (Semen) than it is with female bodily fluids. Because basically, you're "taking the brunt" of all male fluids when you're engaged in sex.

Also, I've heard about scientists being apathetic to completely erradicating diseases because then there would be no money to made. Not sure if that's true, BUT, we haven't completely erradicated a diseas since polio (1934 I believe it was.)

Also, with Hemophilia, family members come in contact with scraped knees, cuts, etc. and if they happen to have a small wound on their hand or body part that comes in contact with the infected persons blood, its very possible they could get it that way.

News like this doesn't phase me anymore. I learned long ago that large corporations run our country. I have this dream (yes an actual dream) where there is a grass roots movement and everyday intelligent citizens take over key offices in our government and all the corruption is exposed. It kind of has a hippieish flavor to it since I used to be one. LOL While it may only be a dream, at times I wish it were a reality.

If you even try to think for yourself you're called liberal.. which isnt a bad thing.
if you try to to be different make sure its so different and stand by it, that people come to respect it. Old government those guys respected each other to a degree. Now its like choosing sides in a war with no bad guys.

Yes people have gotten lazy. I mean we come from a society of convienence. Fast food, 1 hr photos, 10 min oil changes, and so on. We want it NOW so that we can go entertain ourselves in whatever fashion we choose. Following whats going on in our local, state, and national governments is too much like work. So we just think "well I'll watch what the evening news says or the guys around the water cooler and base my voting habits on that" and we think it's ok because not everyone is doing it.....but most of us are.

We read one newspaper or listen to one news show on the radio or tv and let their biased opinions become our own. We don't dig deeper and listen to the little people anymore. It just too much work....let someone else do it. So now we have people and corporations that have taken advantage of our laziness. They've manipulated us and covered things up...."Keep moving, thats right, keep it going, nothing to see here....." They herd us like cattle. >.<

One thing I hope I see before I die, is a new generation of young people that become more active in politics. I want to see younger people taking positions in local government even if its a small subtle change. I want to encourage my grandchildren to not be lazy but to give a damn and encourage others their age to do so also. I too fear for my children and their children Taz, so WE have to start it here and NOW.

While true, I kind of ruled this out seeing as how many Hemopheliacs don't live to adult hood, especially in 3rd world countries. The thing about a scraped knee with a hemopheliac is that kind of injury can be fatal. Also, the aids virus would most likely die out before a person had the chance to contract it. We actually went very in-depth with this disease in one of my biology classes. One video we watched a hemopheliac who was about 19 years of age. He told us about his fears. One of which was just banging his fingers on a desk or something. He says he could die from as little as that. Not to mention hemophelia is near NON-existent in females past the age of 13. Most young hemopheliac females die from the disease when they start getting their menstrual cycles.

If a Professor told you this, he should be fired. The average life expectancy of a Hemophiliac is 60+, as long as they do not suffer from another illness such as Aids or Hepetitis.

Injuries on a Hemophiliac should always be handled with latex gloves but there are times that a parent might panic and forget. With a open wound on their hand, they could easily become infected. A friend came home from Iraq after finding out that a wounded soldier he had saved was infected with Aids. They just had a mortar blow up the vehicle next to them so he happened to have some injuries and was the head surgeon for the unit. I don't want to go into a long drawn out explanation so just suffice it to say that it was a surprise all around. So now he does the round of injections and monitoring himself to see if he'll be HIV positive. The waiting is horrible.

And seriously, why should there even be a discussion how family members or loved ones are also becoming infected? They shouldn't have the virus in the first place so does it really matter?
