If memory serves, there were Red Mage NPCs both male and female in FF9.
In FF5 and FF3, Red Mage was one of the jobs you could choose.

Red Mages also appear in Final Fantasy Tactics Advance.

Aside from FFTA and FFT (which didn't have red mages), there hasn't really been a job system since FFV, which had red mages.

note to self: so glad the days of having to sit down for an hour or two and bullsh*t a report are over. good luck on the paper let us know how it goes, i remember from past experiences i'd just write a paper about whatever i knew the teacher was interested in and take his/her side on the topic, always seemed to get better grades when you did something the teachers were interested in, and since i'd never do daily homework i'd have to ace tests/reports/labs to get b's and c's in high school. i found that being the most effiecient way to do little work and get good, well decent, (good for the no effort put in) grades.

FFVI terra and celes could both use black and white magic without the help of espers.

they cant count considering they didnt have jobs in that game... u could say that a blk or whm in tactics with the other types magic set as a sub is a red mage, which it is not

they count! Locke was surely a thief, Sabin was a monk, Cyan was a warrior. i think that should count.

i got an A+ On my paper.. cuz my teacher had no goddamn clue what i was talking about sence the geeks in my Class Got Really Excitied and Keep raising there hands asking more about it i got an A+ and to New Friends on the Titan sever

Acutally, FFI had all the characters that FFXI has now excluding the advanced jobs. You could pick a team of 4 from a rdm, war, thf, whm, blm, monk. Good times...

actualy there was also ninja, paladin(it was called knight but had all the abilitys of the pally)and actualy thats it i just wanted to add that little bit
