Ninja vs Birds, pointy fings worth it?

This is basically trying to get a discussion on whether NIN can effectively use other weapons.
Most endgame parties that I know of target mobs that fly Birds, Imp and Flies.
Its a well known fact that piercing attacks get bonuses to these flighted mobs.
So would there be any point (pun intended) in using Daggers as a NIN.
Points of Note:
SAM using B- class weapon PoleArm on birds:
Max skill of 240, WS focused Job
NIN using C+ class weapon Daggers:
Max skill of 230, DoT focused Job
What Daggers would be able to compare favourable with Senj/Fudo, assuming money no object and got all the time in the world.
Luckily for me I currently own Blau Dolch :-) which i think is the best a NIN can use.
So basically can Eviseration and dmg increase from daggers compare well/better than Senj/Fudo and Blade: Jin on Birds.

Re: Ninja vs Birds, pointy fings worth it?

For starters every non-THF dagger that's not Blau Dolch sucks. Blau is the only good dagger for non-THFs.

Secondly, there's a 39 point gap between C+ and A-, 55 if your Katana is fully merited. With the bonuses factored in, Blau Dolch is going to be lagging 30 to 44 Acc points behind, and 23 to 39 Attack points behind Katanas. That's a big gap.

It's questionable that you can do better. If you do try, put Blau Dolch in the main hand and do NOT use a second dagger.

Re: Ninja vs Birds, pointy fings worth it?

For Colibril (spelling*) merit camp, assuming no food for NIN, and lets not talk about with party's buff for a second, NIN's accuracy is tight to start with, as comparing A- Katana skill vs. other front-line jobs' A+ skill or 2-handed weapons.

For me, I prefer not to drop Haste gear for ACC+ gear unless it is needed.

If NIN with dagger works in those party settings, we should see a lot of them in those camps since ToAU. But so far, there is none.

Re: Ninja vs Birds, pointy fings worth it?

Blau Dolch 11.12dps with +16 att and +5 acc
Behemoths +1 9.55dps with 10att

Senj 10.04dps +6%crit
Fudo 10.40dps +3% crit

39 skill points difference

merits dont matter cos you can merit Katana and Daggers

can the dmg increase due to piercing provide a benefit over the skill difference
I just dont know :D

Regards we dont see it atm, well someone has to try it first
