Re: Yonin and Innin

Get to 75 then speak from experience already because I guarantee when you do and you look back over half the stuff you've written you'll be embarrassed.

Pld/blu is also a situationally nice combination.

Also Mnemo, I'm finding the same problems as you are. The hit on accuracy is very noticeable with Yonin, it's nice to avoid attacks but if you're not landing many hits then your hate generation is going to be poor. It's even more noticeable on HNMs and the like that still have no issue hitting you with Yonin up but you will be lucky to land one hit out of ten.

Innin, on the other hand, I just struggle to get the opportunity to use. The positional thing is bad enough but invariably if I'm in a party for whatever reason I'm there as backup tank on nin if I'm not the MT. Were doing Swift Belt NMs the other day and the Pld went down and the NM turns on me naturally. Could do nothing but click off Innin as the the ability is just minuses once a mob is facing you. Sadly, you're still stuck with the cooldown so I couldn't pop Yonin.

I already have a 75 sam, and I've yet to play with a 75 nin. I hate how the job is designed. I can avoid (almost) all Attacks. Who hoooo!!!! /sarcasm

Having Ichi is nice, but having it so that with haste, and Ni, you can avoid a good amount of attacks and take little damage.

Originally the job was designed to not be tank, but more of a DD/Puller type job.

It evolved and S-E adjusted gear/job abilities to reflect that. The people crying over that fact need to move on already unless they think only one viable tank is healthy for a game with so many DD/Support jobs. By "people" I mean idiots in case you didn't read between the lines.

Re: Yonin and Innin

Just the other day I had a party setup of PLD, PUP, DRG, THF, SMN, and NIN (me). We synced to 40 and camped @ East Ronafure S mowing down colibri. Prior to the PLD replacing an idiot NIN I was main tanking and using Yonin. Now with the other NIN gone I was first voke and we would SATA the PLD which allowed me to switch over to Innin.

I now say this. I was eyeballing stuff and not parsing.

With Yonin up I noticed the mobs were missing quite a bit more and the enmity was nice indeed. My acc wasn't hindered as bad as I thought it would be, but I was using Squid Sushi +1. On average my Katana would hit for between 20-40, crits for 40-55. Shurikens would hit for about 50-56 a throw. Ninjutsu wheel when not resisted 40-60 and when resisted 4 lol.

Now with Innin up. In the short time that it would take to do SATA/SATAVB I did notice that the mob
rarely missed at all. I couldn't really judge anything about enmity. As for damage though, my katana hit for more on average 25-50, definitely more around 35-40, with shurikens doing close to 65 dmg, more around 60 though. Crits would almost hit for 75. Ninjutsu wheel would stay close to 70-72 dmg when not resisted.

Now this is from what I seen. I really wish I did parser so I could be more accurate but i hope this helps a little bit for anyone interested. What i can say though, was that the party was a lot of fun and I went from 42-47 in a couple of hours.

Re: Yonin and Innin

I know what you are saying Grizzlebeard, I wa sjust saying what the job was originally designed to do.

SE needs to make atleast 1 more tank job, as there aren't enough, and make it so that others can acess it as well with out having to do a tedius quest for it like so many other of the advanced jobs.
