Yeah, why do you think people keep saying their customer service is really bad? It's because of retarded shit like that. They also say you can't record a phone call with their reps or anything. It's ridiculous.

Merit-wise, this doesn't really affect either job (as the NIN will probably just use the DD stance and wait for another DD to inevitably pull it off). Leveling up to 75, this'll prolly be rather awesome one way or another. Either in a fast-paced (likely PL'd ._.) party - using as above - or in a more traditional party with the tanking stance up. Or as just a DD ('cuz we need more of those). It'd prolly be a blast but nothing that really upsets balances. End game activities, this makes NINs better in the way a great new set of gear would make them better: Unless it's a Ridill, it probably won't change their function. Yes, it's awesome. Yes, people will still prefer PLD/Nin for everything+1.

I can see that. If you have an Aegis lying around.

Nah. Only four. ![]() I'm trolling. But even our non-Aegis will use PLD/RDM sometimes, takes good support though. No afk/napping WHMs and RDMs who forget how to Refresh.

Amazing for tanking J-Lo. (Points if someone can find me pics of someone tanking Jennifer Lopez.)

I don't get why you'd want PLD/RDM for most things; keeping CE is easier with PLD/NIN in general, isn't it?

Pld/Rdm you get Phalanxe, and Stone Skin, but most Rdms at that do end game should have Phalanx 2 right?

And I don't think they bother with Stoneskin, takes forever to cast. And not every RDM has P2 though most probably do, it's really hard to cap it though, we're talking Enhancing merits (which are otherwise useless) and of course gear. So idk. Situational, but great in those situations.

It's mostly a sub for lol'ing at magic-based NMs. Like, as I said, when you have Jailer of Love floating outside of melee range continually casting junk. I REALLY can't speak of its validity in most other things. I think pld/nin is just too reliable for pretty much everything else. I could see it being used in kite situations if the mob hits for less than 400/swing. Since every shadow lost = hate lost but if you can always have stoneskin up, you'll lose 0 hate to the smacks for 0 damage. Seems pretty iffy.

RDM/NIN can tank JoL though, it's not hard to tank it because you never get hit. I bet I could tank it on WHM, so JoL isn't really a great example. We use PLD/RDM on Ixion, I know that. Probably on Tiamat and Khimmy, too. It's funny, I'm a WHM so I'm constantly watching over the PLDs but I never fully pay attention to what they're doing or what they're subbing, just keeping status effects off them. As long as they're keeping the big baddies off me, I don't really give a fuck, haha. I'd have to ask a PLD. I do think it's the ability to spam spells. PLD/NIN doesn't have that, and PLD/WAR doesn't either.

Just played 7 levels of NIN and I'm completely amazed and enthralled by how neato it is to tank now on Ninja. I was able to hold hate off 2 rngs in a LV40 Lolibri PT in South San S. I was cracking up laughin so hard. The only time they turned the mob was during their 4-500 dmg Barrages. But even then, 1 voke and BAM, mobs all mine. The additional evasion is super noticable as well. There were lots of moments where I'd tank for 30 seconds just on Ichi alone. I JUST THINK THATS SJFL:KDJDF)JK#)FJ#)!! /joy The only time I had trouble was on something IT++, but I mean that's to be frickin expected anyway. I'm telling you, NIN is blowing PLD away as far as tanking in xp party. It's really making PLD look like it did 3 years ago. And if you have a party that's smart and does all the enfeebles and stuns and crap..... NIN is GOD. GOD I TELL YOU

Unfortunately I find Yonin and Innin a little lacking. My biggest complaint is the behind-target constraints of Innin and Acc-down of Yonin YONIN: If tanking with Yonin up, I now need to increase my Acc by 30, where do I get that extra Acc from? By sacrifice damage output. More damage = less time mob alive = better use of party slot For tanking NM's and other endgame situations emnity and eva increases are much more important. INNIN: I would absolutely love to be invited to a PT as a straight up hide behind the mob DD, but who invites NIN for DD these days? and since when does a mob stay totally focused on one person during meritpo? To be honest I would love to see the removal of the front-facing, rear-facing nature of these abilites (even though Yonin has no impact for this) What we would then get is 2 differing style of NIN tanks Evasion(Yonin) and DD(Innin) Cheap tool usage for the Evasion tanks and expense for the DD. Also with Innin tanks having to fight against the Emnity reduction, this seems a fair trade. And for solo work NIN get to choose to be cheap or kill faster How do you guys feel about this? |

My Mood: | Re: Yonin and Innin I think that post 40, and Nin, and Pld set up would be great. The nin keeps up utsusemi, and the Pld tries to keep hate. When the Pld is low on health, or needs a rest, the Nin grabs hate with Provoke, if they sub War for a little bit, then Pld Rests, then he grabs hate back.

I still love the idea of NINs as pullers. It would work pretty well in a PLD and NIN party.
