Gothic Sabatons/Gauntlets

I have been wearing the Gothic Sabatons for normal/level sync exp pt on my 67 NIN. I really like the results as holding hate has been much easier, as in letting the DD have a little more fun. Now I am in the process of trying to get the gauntlets and started wondering how these would compare to och kotes.

Ochiudo's/Ochimusha Kote - DEF:8 Light:-8 Dark:+8 Attack:+20 Lv.34
Gothic Gauntlets - DEF:12 STR:+3 Enmity: +2 Physical DMG Taken:Ice Spikes effect. Set bonus - Attack/Range Attack: +5 Lv.43

Does +20 attack hold hate better then,+5 attack +3 STR, +2 enmity? Is the Ice Spikes effect enough to consider if the trigger is constant while shadows are down?

Your thoughts...

From what I've seen the set bonuses on the Gothic pieces don't work with just the 2 pieces, so there's either more to the set or they need to be fixed.

Since you already have them, if you want to maximize your hate you can swap the Gothics into JAs like Provoke(and Warcry when you gain a few more levels), then use OKote otherwise.

I could see +enmity in the feet slot helping you hold hate, since there isn't much available for NIN at your level in that slot.

However, I just don't see such a small amount of +enmity outperforming +20 attack, especially when you're at a level when you're still better off eating sushi and need that +attack.

I had forgotten about the set bonus. The patch notes for today's update mentions a fix for these two pieces. So it sounds like there's some incremental set bonus that should be kicking in with just those two pieces, as opposed to needing some currently unreleased pieces to even activate the set bonus. Hopefully we'll find out today just how much +attack comes with the set bonus.

Actually I just realized the Gothic set bonus was in fact borked, and they fixed it in today's update.

Gothic might be OK for NIN/DRK but... unless you're kiting, better off with Dusk in that scenario.

These things are seriously pissing me off. They do not want to drop for me. Like, hardcore don't wanna drop.

Gothic Gauntlets: 0 drops / 36 unlocks / 54 caskets
Gothic Sabatons: 0 drops / 23 unlocks / 37 caskets

Actually, I think the wording means he's saying that if you're not kiting, use Dusk. He's somewhat advocating their use while kiting.

lol ok I think I see it, just a funky wording. But still, these are nice pieces to swap in for your /WAR JAs at the level you can use them. Bear in mind these pieces are like level 43, so you can start using them a long while before you get access to real haste gear.

Yeah, from the reports I saw, SE fixed it this last patch and the bonus is +10 Attack. It is assumed it is also +10 Ranged Attack as well. It is relatively easily tested.

I just tracked by hours

Gauntlets: 2 Hours, soloed on SCH, casket came from a skele DRK.
Sabatons: 7 hours, soloed and duoed, still no damn sabatons.

I've farmed about 8 hours, no drop on gauntlets for me either.

/shines the pretty Gothic Gauntlets.

More for when I have hate on BST or for a Snarl build than for WS, though. I still have a lot of work to do on rebuilding my BST.
