A little help
I remember refusing to be NIN because of the expensive tools and also because of the NIN defense issue. I am now lvl 17 nin lol which contradicts my above statement.

My problem is this, i always hated pting with nin because they would complain about some of the dumbest things. Like for example I was a DRG in a party with a WAR and a NIN. The NIN and the rest of the party agreed that they wanted me to backup tank....I of course had a problem with this because my defense isn't much better than the NIN. The NIN is like all you have to do is backup voke so i can utsusemi. I, of course, didnt see why i should've had to provoke because we had a Warrior that was a higher level than me who should've been backup tanking. What ended up happening was the warrior didnt provoke once in the whole fight. I was doing his job basically and came pretty close to death a few times.

To make a long story short. I've been in parties as a NIN and i've noticed alot of the WAR i fight with dont provoke when my shadows go down. I dont wanna mention it to the Wars and make them feel like a n00b and get pissed lol. So what would be the nicest way to mention that i need them to watch my shadows?

Re: A little help
It is not WAR itself.. it is the player behind the WAR. I would suggest that before the first battle starts, work out the game plan: Such as who is backup voking, and make sure everyone understand the plan, etc. During the battle, communicate, fine tune the teamwork.

If the backup voker is a new player and not experience with counting the shadows, I would ask him to use Provoke as soon as the NIN take damage (just look at the HP bar on the screen).

Re: A little help
I was a WAR for 40 lvls and not once did I let my NIN down when his/her shadows fell. The way I see it you have 2 options

1)<the one i'd do> tell the war to voke call him a n00b get him annoied

2)Make a macro that says ustichmi down please provoke
and use it before your last shadow fails incase he is a newb and can't control hate

It ain't tanking unless you get hit
To those who are about to tank I salute you.

Yeah I always ask now days about Party setup..Cause 9 times out 10 if you have War Sub your going to be vokeing..Your either going to tank or back up for sure...Ive even had to tank as THf/NIN...That was a challenge in itself but I like challenges so I did it!!! But I think if you have a War, in all aspects that War shouldve done his job and Backup voked..Sounds like he didnt know his job that well at all...Ive had Parties like that, Ive learned to grit my teeth at some of the stupid things people do in Parties..But I want Exp so I do it..But Yeah I know where your comeing from friend!!!

Re: A little help
Yeah, luckily we had a pl in our last party (The one with the WAR), otherwise i might've put him in his place lol. What was funny was, about 20 mins before we disbanded pt that WAR mt'd and said "I'll be over there as soon as i leave this party". Our leader was like wtf. and the warrior says "I got another invite, how long are you guys gonna be." Leader: "Nobody is keeping you here, you can go if you have to". I was glad he was gone, even though i had to take some serious damage when my shadows dropped, the PUP actually made a good backup tank lol.

I was in a party as a mnk once where we had a NIN/WAR, A THF/NIN, a WAR/NIN and a me as MNK/WAR, and it was funny because we all shared an equal amount of hate between each other since the warrior didnt come until later. So the NIN would tank and when his shadows dropped, the THF would SA the mob and then the hate would be on the THF, the NIN would try to do utsusemi and when the thf's shadows dropped, i would tank until they both got Utsusemi off. When the WAR arrived he said "Do you want me to main tank" and the leader said "Share hate with the NIN and the THF.....and the MNK".
