Have any of you ever tagged along a Fafnir hit? I have no idea to do. I can't tank Fafnir, and everyone tells me not to attack. So I'm just wasting whm mp standing there and getting hit by all the AE. I was told to watch some of the jp Ninjas when they fight Fafnir, but they hardly ever do him anymore, so thats not really an option. So, anyone know what a ninja is supposed to do? =P

the old HNM LS i was in always begged me to come to fafnir.. they said ninja is great for it O_o

Wow they wanted you to tank? No one would let me tank it. It seems that even if I did avoid all his single target attacks, the healers would get too much hate healing all the damage I get from his AE attacks. Oh well =P Thx for the reply.

ninja cant tank fafnir really, but tanks die really fast in that fight so maybe they wanted you there as a back up tank. When fighting fafnir noone really uses regular attacks because it gives fafnir tp and thats really bad. Therfore only WSs and elemental magic are used against it. The tank does everything it can to keep hate without attacking but unfortunately that is a lot harder for a ninja to do. your ninjutsu will get resisted really bad and paladin has provoke rampart defender healing and most of all flash which is the most useful skill against fafnir. Fafnir attacks really fast so he will do away with ninjutsu really fast and its difficult for ninjas to keep up, and flash is usually really helpful in stopping fafnir from hitting the tank for like 250 dmg a second. The same can be said about king behemoth. Ninja is pretty bad because your constantly running and its hard to keep hate and keep ninjutsu up.

So what are you saying? That ninjas are useless against Fafnir?
What would a ninja do in that fight?

ninja arent useless, paladin is just a whole lot better. In that fight ninja would blink tank (most likeley if all the paladins are unable to tank)

Thanks for the responses. Right now the best thing I think I can do is to sub whm and help heal with whatever little mp I have. Either that or just watch from the far side of the room (which is what I have been doing :dead: ).

If you think you wont be needed to tank you sub samurai equip a sword and use spirits within.
