That's one heck of a dream... Take out Wii and maybe use XBox 360 and it might be better, then again with XBox 360's specs take it out too and it's even better. Games especially if they go to consoles are limited to the weakest console.

Spec wise Wii is the weakest console, then XBox 360, then PS3, and of course which ever future next-gen Computer Systems that are developed being the most powerful.

I think it would be great if they would pretty much re-create the entire world, better Graphics, more jobs, much larger world, quests, etc.... and allow us to import our old character/gear/etc over from XI.

I'd like an FFXI-2 with graphics approximate to that demo. It'd probably be in the vein of EQ2 and WoW though, aiming primarily to correct the mistakes made in the previous generation of MMO and in the process losing much of what made the originals appealing to begin with. If it weren't, and it were similar to the original game, there would be a problem with getting players to leave their established characters behind to play what is nearly the same game with more flash.

The idea of SE making a new MMO sounds really dumb to me honestly. FFXI players have enough going for them in Vana'diel. If they came out with a new MMO right now it wouldn't be a good marketing move. Think about it. You have two MMOs on the market. Both are in-depth games and can take an eternity to get anything worthwhile accomplished. Players don't usually play two MMOs like that at once unless they really have nothing going for them, I.e. a life. So what would happen? One of the MMOs would totally be abandoned, so you have a game on the market making no money and another making a good profit. A new MMO would drive SE into debt.

To sum it up. FFXI: Spirits within.

But I saw the tech demos for that one guy put up. They would make a great expansion, I think. But a new MMO? I really don't think so. Just a rumor, that's all there is to it.

The only thing is I'm confused. I've heard that the tech demo was FFXIII and I've heard that its the next MMO as stated above. So is FFXIII the next FF MMO? Or did someone get their lines crossed somewhere?

But in the end, yes they are working on another MMO. They also have Fantasy Earth.

Well, I firmly believe that it is a rumor. It was posted by IGN. I will continue to believe it is a rumor until SE itself says they are working on it. I went and checked SE to see if there was anything about, but I saw nothing.

Just because you have multiple game formats out, does not mean that your company will go into debt either. That's just the paranoia of 'OMG! I'd have to give up my character!' seeping in. I hate to compare, but look at SOE. They are running 5+ MMOs, 3 of which (EQ, EQ2, and Planetside) make significant profits. I'd love to see SE come out with a new MMO that has a different take on the FF universe. Perhaps a more technilogical bent.

Hate to break it to you but Vanguard is going to be pc only and I'm overjoyed that is the case. Crippling your game's performance, graphical capabilities, and progression by shackling it to an inferior platform is a no brainer from the start.
