Unfortunately, it is more or less confirmed that the North American release of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children is delayed... for the third time. I spoke with a local distributor and they informed me that it has been delayed till January 10, 2006. This is reinforced by the changed date on AnimeNation's website and several other site's news.

The reason, however, is unknown, but all we know (this part is rumor) is that unlike the other delays which was decided by Square-Enix, this delay was handed down by Sony instead (probably Sony Pictures as they may be the "publisher").

Darn Sony, it is a conflict of interest to let Sony handle anything Square-Enix, something is not adding up for me in terms of why Sony had to have a hand in these things.

When it comes to japanese anime or movies I almost alwats prefer subtitles. English voice actors never seem to get the emotions right (that or it just doesn't mesh with the characters on screen). Sucks we won't be able to get a nice crisp dvd copy for a couple months but there are plenty of good versions on the internet.

Why is it that almost anything gets delayed within the last month?? They couldnt pick a better time to delay it. "Aw.. looks like we have to delay it 2 week before its suppose to be released." retards.. /slap /spit /punch Sony/SE.

Seems to me delaying it encourages piracy. People get fed up with delays so they download it.

Legend of Heroes and Popolo Crois have been repeatedly delayed as well. In Popolo's case, into next year...~.~;;

I have come to expect this from SE unfortunately, it seems its their standard practice(as well as many other companies like Nintendo, Sony, etc.). There just doesn't seem to be a sense of urgency for some reason. I got used to this after the countless delays of Nintendo systems and games way back in the day, to the point where I don't even pay much attention to release dates anymore. They do always seem to deliver with quality products after delays though. However, if what you said is true about Sony forcing the delay(rumor I know), that is INCREDIBLY shysty of Sony. Nuff said.

I thought I read somewhere that warehouses that store games, and so forth was hit by the hurricane last year. This was pending the release of Chains of Promathia. Could other delays be because of a "natural" effect of nature?

With CoP it had more to do with shipping being delayed due to the storms interfering with sea travel. That, and it was only a delay of a few days. This is a predetermined delay of several months. Either Sony is stretching their e-penis and showing off, or the could be an actual reason for the delay (though my money is on the former)

Wow...April 2006...thats a long time lol. But then I'm kinda use to how slow they are with this movie. I've known about it ever since 1999 or 2000 when the first trailer was released in Japan (lol some guy snuck his camera into the movie theater, filmed the trailer, and had it up on the internet). But by now you all have seen it right? the jp release? movie was bad-ass!!

OH YEAH! i think the same ... i hate watching anime with the weirdest english voice hehhehhehe
and they use almost the same people in most animes lol

If anyone have seen the ripped one (which I didn't but know from my friends) some of the subs were horrible. Biggest example being the part where they traslated
ジェノバの首 into Jenova's NECK
-literal translation=Jenova's neck (yes they got that right)
-What it really means=Jenova's head (Japanese "old" way of saying bounty head)

Besides that and zuruzuru, I also heard it was decent, so meh.

i loved the movie .... they could have made it longer though but i love how all of the girls looked 8) soooo cute
