Yea, i read about this a few days ago.This is so awesome

, only thing is...DQVIII is WAY too slow moving for me.I guess i'll be paying $50 bucks for a demo.

I agree. For some reason the FF series has really slumped lately(except for XI of course

). The main thing that keeps me playing is their innovative gameplay. Recently story and character development has been lacking, but there is always something that hasnt been tried before in the battle system/gameplay engine. For some reason, its very hard to put my finger on it, but something with the FF series just isnt right nowadays. Reminds me of all the new 1st person shooters that come out, they just seem like rehashes. Hopefully something will jump start this series back to its original glory.

Hehe, first demo I saw for FF was the one for VII where you get to summon Ifrit and Neo Bahamut > < b. That was awesome. After watching Advent of Children, you really wanna go back and play the game (come to think of it, I should).

I'll probably pick it up, but I also will most likely be buying it more so for the FFXII demo than anything else.

I don't see the big deal about DW myself. I had the urge to play DWVII from what I heard about it, but it's damn impossible to find anywhere around where I live.

There's always Ebay but ,meh, I'm to lazy to deal with all that just to play a game I might not even like. Plus, the first person view battle system just strikes me as strange for an RPG.

It used to be called Dragon Warrior in America. Try it out, VII is the longest game I've ever played (over 110 hours and only ever made it to the start of the second disc O.o I'll finish one day). It did however have the best story I've ever seen in any game/movie/show/book, it's awesome.

I remember playing the original when Nintendo gave it away with subscriptions when I was little. I had the special armor and sword and had built the bridge to attack the head boss, when we were on vacation and our house got broken into and it was stolen ><
I think I may check out the newest one when it comes out, could be interesting.
Oh, and pai, I remember playing a ff1 demo.
(not really, just wanted you to feel worse

I would have to agree with those who have said that the FF series has lost its former glory. My boyfriend only has a super nintendo, so I brought over my old copy of FFIV (or II in the US) and he absolutely loves it. Watching him play it reminds me of the first time I explored Mysidia, the Underground, or the Tower of Bab-il.

I don't know why it's my favorite, it just has that good old FF charm to it. I think that charm started to fade when FFVII was released, don't get me wrong, FFVII was a good game, however it seemed to me that Squaresoft was trying to get more people to buy their game with all the glam and bam that oozed out of FFVII. Kind of like Squaresoft felt like a teenager under peer pressure to fit in with the rest of the world and not only fans of the FF series.

Oh well, those are just my thoughts.

I tried my DQ8 demo a few days ago... I am tad dissapointed by the spells names

They translated them into english and is no where similar to their original

hoimi - miniheal
behoimi - medheal
bagi (wind) - swoosh

Other than the translation issues, did you have any other complaints?

I personally have never played any of the Dragon Quest/Warrior games but I'm intrigued by this one.
