The next version update of FINAL FANTASY XI will be split into the following three parts.

- 1st Part (Oct. 29, 2009)
This will be a version update without maintenance.
* There will be no in-game changes with this version update.

- 2nd Part (Nov. 9, 2009)
This will be a version update with maintenance.

- 3rd Part (During the last part of November) This will be a version update with maintenance.

* We will provide more details on the maintenance and version updates at a later date.

Additionally, the third add-on scenario, available for purchase on Oct. 26, 2009, "A Shantotto Ascension: The Legend Torn, Her Empire Born" will be available for play after the Nov. 9 version update.

Additionally, due to congestion on or around the date of the version update, it may take some time for the contents of "A Shantotto Ascension" to show up in FINAL FANTASY XI after purchase. It is recommended that if you are considering a purchase of "A Shantotto Ascension," you do so before the version update.

no in-game changes = minor bug fixes maybe, probably just a way to deliver new content (dats) so that you avoid putting everything in one bulk download. Not a terrible idea, but still grossly inferior to fixing their fucking download method already. Or maybe they just want to get everyone off the servers for awhile for some reason.

No maintenance on the 29th. No downtime, just a download of version update.

Unless you count the time it takes to download and install as downtime.

@Shep: Do all NMs pop after a maintenance (or is it after any update)? I've heard about that kind of thing but I don't know the details.

No it resets timers on alot of them, some will some wont. KA's windows are reset, so from the moment maintenance is over, his robber crabs have a chance to spawn. I think their 30 min windows? so every 30 minutes there's a chance, until eventually his crabs have to spawn.

Some on the other hand, reset the window, and you basically have to wait 18hrs before it spawns again. I believe this is the case with Ground Kings (Faf,Behemoth,Turtle) and some other random NM's (charby I think)

I can't remember if YinYang Robe NM re-spawns right after maintenace, or his window reset's.... Mhurron, mal? BBq, ARmando, help me out, i don't have access to the wiki @ work.

From my understanding...having tons of friends who hunted him, his timer restarts after a maintenance, but he doesn't pop right after one.

If the servers actually go down then all nm/hnm timers reset. But how they worded the first update without maintenance, makes me wonder if the servers are going to be active during it or not. @_@ Yay for skewed hnm camping!

I'd camp Argus 21-24 hours later. Less people than those mentioned and still a great piece to have. Will the Mog Tablets respawn?
