Acc & Atk from Hauby/+1 is still better for YGK than a straight STR+8. Nevermind there's already the SAM JSE Lv.70 body that has STR+8. Kirin's Osode for SAM/THF, and then Hauby/+1 for any other non-Amano SAMs WS set up. And then Brynie+1 for Amano SAM in a non /THF set up of course.

Technically, that's not true. The record was, and remains, Hydra Haubert at +9.

I've never actually SEEN a Hydra Haubert - it's a Dyna-Tav drop. But it's in the dat files and some people have reported getting them.

Also, while it's technically true that Iron Ram has the most MDB, Valhalla Breastplate's -5% to all damage taken is always at least as good as 5 MDB, I think. (But the elemental resistances set bonus starts kicking in at 2 pieces, so in practice, the Iron Ram body may reduce some magical attacks *more* than Valhalla. Not that I could test it anytime in the next year or so, probably.)

But comparing a level 68 AN piece to level 70+ relic, abj, Nyzul, Salvage, etc. drops is kind of unfair - for its level it's quite good, blowing away AF and the level 73 adaman cuirass (the purple piece new PLDs wear until they get one of the better rare/ex pieces).

In the long run, AN pieces will be as easy to obtain as Assault Points pieces or maybe a little easier, so IMO their stats should be judged on that level and not "oh it's not as good as morrigan's, FAIL" whining. If a piece that could be bought for AN was as good as morrigan's, everyone who had morrigan's would first shit a brick, and then throw that brick at the windows of SE headquarters.

But AN pieces are something anyone can earn just by working steadily toward them over time - you don't have to be in an endgame LS at all, let alone win drops.


P.S. Seeing that Rose Strap, I'm already thinking about a PLD/DNC greatsword build. My first thought was "oh they made it a strap so you can't use it with ridill/joyeuse/merc kris/kclub", which I'm sure is true, but there are plenty of 2h weapons you *can* use it with, including Algol if I had one, and some virtue weapons.

P.P.S. Soboro with Rose Strap would be some sick shit. Throw on a -10% physical damage (in Campaign) ring anyone can use, and I bet SAM/DNC can tank Campaign just fine now (even if they couldn't before, which really, I'm not sure about).
