Everyone wants a Murphie hat. But I imagine Armando's would likely feature some sort of scantily clad hume or mithra girl as opposed to a mouthy taru. EDIT: I like the nod to FFIII, and I like the DRG helm. It's nifty!

Dsdjbxdhifgbldfgnh mc,ljgnhlm. . . . just, why, Square-Enix, just why? Why give the Magus hat with lolConserveMP on it to a job that, if it's doing any spellcasting, has two far better-looking hats that do the job much better as well? You are fully aware that this is just going to be a melee piece for us anyway, so why? . . . well, at least it could've looked goofier (Onion Knight helmet). Definitively the most lucrative augments for the Red Mage on this thing are Accuracy+10 Attack+5 STR+4 Weapon Skill Accuracy+15. Our go-to weaponskills are Evisceration, Vorpal Blade, and Death Blossom, so +25 Accuracy on a headpiece is, indeed, hot sex on wheels.

Yeah 'cuz +3 Conserve MP is totally the highlight of the magus hat, certainly not the augments. And while we're at it Subtle Blow +3 is totally hot on a hat most people will turn into exceptional pieces. Woe is you! =P

Just because? Even lolSubtleBlow technically does more for a Weapon Skill than Conserve MP. But yeah, the augments are red-hot.

Perhaps because Red Mage is...uh...a mage job.

I hope this chapter is a little more job friendly though, haven't looked at the official page bc I'm at and you know how job computers can be but meh. Now all I gotta do is attempt to finish ACP so I can get a Nuevo Coselete for my DRG, then try and finish this one when it comes out so I can get that helm. Looking at the stats it's a lot better than some of the stuff you can get in the game now (I think). Any insight as to what a drg/blu can do in ACP 11? Pick off Seed Thralls, help heal, run in for a few hits after a TP move, run in for a WS. Probably better to go /SAM though, so you get WS with regularity (Meditate) and cut down the number of hits needed to hit 100 as well. Ideally you should have a backline that can hold its own without you contributing with healing. It sure doesn't help that you probably won't be standing next to the tank either. I tried this fight today, we were doing fine the first time but played it too safe and timed out. The second time we were doing much better but the WHM died early. Had DRK and THF in the party. There's also a video up on Youtube of a party beating it with PLD/RDM DRK/SAM DRK/SAM RNG COR WHM (the party I was in was PLD/RDM DRK/SAM THF COR WHM BLM.) Despite not winning I'm not really convinced that close-range melee can't participate. If you could set up a Lv.3 skillchain, you could maximize the benefit of the WS you're getting out of Meditate. However from experience I find the whole "tank runs out of range and gets draws in over and over again like a yoyo" idea is pretty stupid. I prefered to stand out of Charm range but close enough to not get Draw In (about 10'). It's damned near impossible to get any actual tanking done while running. I was getting hit with either strategy so might as well go with the one that doesn't move me every 5 seconds. I really wish I had the Iron Ram set for the enmity and MDB though. /sigh.

My Mood: | Re: "A Moogle Kupo d'Etat" Advance Order Details! Official Site Goes Live! (06/29/200 Get killed and be wyvernless in under a minute probably. Ive tried to zerg this stupid fight because I dont have sam/rng or a high mage levelled. At 40% it spams AOE and starts casting charm ga about once every 10 seconds. Idk who thought up this fight but they left there brains behind. Climing the stupid tower just to get turned into a frog charmed and aoe to death in a very short time is pathetic. Its so job specific that Id actually have to level rng to 37 just to get a chance at the win.

/sigh these chapters are damn near impossible if you don't have the right jobs, I might just give up on em and just try to finish the other expansions, at least I have a fighting chance with those >.> Well SE succeeded in convincing me not to buy this next chapter, but who knows I'll wait for someone to finish then learn about how the last fight is you have to fight Uber Moogle who spams, sleepga (area effect of the entire map) then Blizzaga VIII or something. |

Best yet, stay back, pick off the Seed thralls and have ranged DD's plink down the Seed Crystal. RNG, SAM/RNG, COR and SMN are all very effective against the crystal as they can hurt it without having to get into range of the AoE spam. You yourself should not even get close to it, not even to WS unless you are sure to deal the finishing blow. Also DRG/SAM would be the better choice here.

So you're free to make it into a specialist piece for some unusual purpose (personally I'll probably just get one of the others for another job, anyway). Quote:
Oh wait, no it's not. Maybe that's why they gave us a piece that starts with mage stats.

Would anyone be kind enough to list the possible rewards and augments? I am deployed right now and cannot view SE's website on the military's network.
