That isn't the reason why you should be ashamed.

My THF would probably be the same if I hadn't went out and skilled up Dagger and Marksmanship on WAR. I got Archery up to like 110 when I was leveling SAM so it is still capped for THF.

After further ponderance, If I had my Marksmanship and Archery capped on WAR, I probably wouldn't mind bringing ranged equips to the party, but still don't ask me to pull unless you want to die.

Finding a chest on an entire map will be insanely difficult.

I remember doing the Beastmen quest in Yuntunga Jungle for the +enmity ring. I had an X on my map and almost didnt find the chest before the day ended (Started 0:34 and found the chest 23:35). I had to get within 5 feet and wait a second for the chest to begin to fade visible.

Thanks SE, you obviously didn't learn your lesson from ACP. Love the weekly bonuses and that this event is permanent, but only 11 people getting a ring each week out thousands of players? Not cool. I was really hoping the rings would be available to everyone as a 1-time thing (like the anni ring) and then maybe some uber, random augmented equipment for trading in the tablet becasue everyone wants this ring . _ .

Well, good thing I have 75 BRD... just wish I had Harlequin's Horn.

The Problem with the Mog ring and the stupid way you have to find them is that its going to take luck and TIME! We all want EXP rings to get EXP faster, but if you spend 8 HOURS LOOKING FOR A RING thats 8 hours of time that could be spent getting EXP!

So you can A. join a exp party and Get X/HR of EXP Let X be more than ZERO

or B. Spend all day looking for a EXP ring and get zero EXP untill its found. If you take this route then you are now Eight hours or worse behind the group that just decided to join EXP parties the entire time. You are not going to catch up to group A.

I'm kind of hoping that I'm wrong about the way the ring works.

Another possibility is that you get the ring whenever you find one of these, period. Which would be stupidly overpowered. Or maybe you get the ring the first time you find a tablet, but only the other reward for any other tablets (like those repeatable quests where you get the good reward the first time and gil afterward). Which would be pretty reasonable.

Partly I'm thinking this because of some more translation inconsistencies. The English version says the ring is for the adventurers who "discover" the tablet (which, to me, sounds like the first person to find it). The French says adventurers who successfully meet the tablet (meet as in keep an appointment with; it makes no damn sense to me, but my French isn't that good). Waiting for my German translation slave to get back to me with the way he reads it.

I could see it going any number of ways, really. SE can be stupidly cruel sometimes, and they can be stupidly generous sometimes. I'll save any personal grumbling over it until I see how it actually works.

Its going to be epic searching through a zone forever, only to find out that there is no tablet in that zone. It is going to take longer to search 30 zones on foot for one tablet than it would take to level to 75.

Well to me this looks like one of the ideas that SE had in there back pocket for a long time because it is something specific that only a few player can have at any given time. They are litterally making some people more special then others which is really hard for a game of this sort to get away with. So the relic and mystic weapons are like that but with enough trying anyone could get them it wasn't just luck based, but this is. This brings back the feeling when i first started when i killed a NM and got the optical earring, I felt so proud because I thought I found something no one else had. Maybe they are trying to do that to see how players like it. Seriously if there was an epic weapon you could get for only a limited time but you knew you were one of the few people that had it and no one could get it for awhile. You would for the time it is in your possession feel like a badass.

I see where you're going with this, however this is eyecandy to speed up leveling, not a weapon or armor that can make you awesome. Suppose instead of the ring it was the Mog Satchel. I wonder how pissed off all of those other people that couldn't find the tablet to get one would feel.

Until the quest is implemented, we can't say for sure how you get the ring. It would indeed be aggravating if they did it the way people are assuming. But, oh well, one day you'll just be walking through a zone and happen upon one and then you'll have your ring.

I thought this tidbit was interesting..."but be forewarned—mounted adventurers run the risk of overlooking the concealed treasures... So don't bother getting on that chocobo! This event is done on foot! LOL

Now that I think about it, that Tablet that gives you swift feet would be kinda useful for this. Only problem is somebody has gotta find it first.

Wow. Kupofried's Ring certainly looks like S-E intended for it to be an epicly rare item.

In fact, everything about this is epic. More MMOs should do this sort of an epic rare-item finding events like this.

I'll be taking my sweet time zone to zone a bit more often as opposed to riding a chocobo everywhere, if that thing about mounted adventurers possibly missing it is true. There is also going to be a LOT more exploration, particularly during the adventurer appreciation week.

Also, I hope all /tells to persons whose names are announced in a zone would be /tells of congratulations rather than of envy. That would show a community's true colors, I think.

Ah, expectations. The source of all disappointment. There's nothing wrong with super rare rewards. You might as well complain that only a very limited number of people will win Rank 1 prizes in the Bonanza. If you hadn't been expecting to be able to get a Kupofried's Ring easily you wouldn't be disappointed.

The fact is that skill-ups are insanely and unnecessarily slow and anything that increases their speed - even just for one week - is pure win. The fact that the bonus will eventually be triggered again just makes it epic. Anything that makes brown caskets easier to get is also win in my book (I'm looking at you, Gothic armor.) All of the bonuses are pretty hot really. It's not like we don't get anual Anniversary Rings for doing absolutely nothing either.

Reminds me of the old days when chocobos were 1.5k avg, if you didn't havbe to be there immediately you were on foot. Back in the days you would see level 75s actually walk through pashow
