I would hope they add new ways to get the materials for GB 9 and 10, otherwise you won't be seeing those extra 10 slots.

I am finding myself increasingly excited about this update. I don't remember this being asked or answered - are the NM fights now all Fields of Valor'ed up NMs that would already exist in those areas, or would they be different flavors of the same NMs, or new ones altogether?

There's no solid info yet, but the general consensus is (as this question has been asked 7564389573429574 freaking times already on as many boards) that there will be new NMs.

It is very doubtful SE will change old NMs to this new system w/o at least mentioning it.

Actually, now that I think about it, it'd be funny as hell if SE ninja'd in a desynthesis recipe for Barone Corazza and M.Sheets.

More than anything, they'll add in some new ways to get the items (prolly sprinkle them in some existing or new BCs or something, prolly rewards obtainable at certain points for ACP).

Well aside from the new armors in the mini expansion (I am SO gonna get myself a Redingote with avatar perp-2 and pet double attack!!) we do not know what other rewards can be found.

Ah. Seeing as this is the only FFXI board I read, I didn't know how often this question had been asked already.

Looking forward to encountering the new NMs (as listed above in a different post).

Also... SE keeps delaying the new avatars.. i hope we dont end up with "we are sorry" it couldnt be made possible

They said they were coming, they never said when.
