The 7th Anniversary Fan Art Contest Approaches! (04/02/2009)

To celebrate FINAL FANTASY XI entering into its seventh year of service on May 16th, the theme of this year's contest is the 7th Anniversary. Send us your masterful renditions of subjects such as "celebrating the anniversary with friends" or "the journey of adventurers throughout the years," or even share some of your treasured memories related to the contest's theme.

All entries will be judged by an all-star panel consisting of development, operations, community and localization team members who will review the artwork and select the prize-winning masterpieces.

The winning illustrations will be displayed on Topics on May 16th, and their artists, awarded a special prize – the "Nomad Moogle Rod" in-game item!

How to Enter
Requirements:
- Contestants must possess an active FINAL FANTASY XI account
- All contestants must agree to the defined terms and conditions
* Contestants under the age of 18 must obtain the permission of a legal guardian before submitting entries.

Submission Period: Thursday, April 2nd, 2009 — Wednesday, May 6, 2009 (7:59am)(PDT)

Ah, the fan art contest. Where meticulously crafted imagery, full of graceful brush strokes and stunning likenesses are deemed inferior works of art to a 12 year old's crayon doodle, titled "What if chocosbu had bewbz lol".

I enjoy drawing, but I haven't in quite a while. I might try to whip something up though, if I get bored enough.

I love it when these events happen because you get to see a lot of sweet art, but the winning pics always leave a bad taste in my mouth.

I gave up anything but doodling years ago, but I look forward to seeing the results from this. A couple of last year's winners are still in my wallpaper rotation, and one of them is the background for my cell phone. Goes nicely with my Gobbie phone charm :D

I've decided I'm going to enter since I can't lose anything but a lot of free time by doing so XD
I was going to draw all the main city + expansion npcs but after talking to some friends decided it would be too impersonal so I'm going to attempt to draw the majority of my linkshell celebrating the 7th anniversary.
