Im pretty sure it is the final reward, just like the rings from CoP, you can discard the item and redo a quest in order to pick a different one...

"They" (SE) haven't explained how to get the augments yet, however we now know what they are. Most likely we won't know how to do it until the update comes out or right before.

Think I'll wait a bit before gettin this expansion, downloading today would just be silly, bet everyones trying to get it. Prob wait a few days while we cant even use it yet. back to levelling nin to 37 /cry.

You can have two augments at a time, but you can only have one Body Piece at a time. Meaning if you pick the Mage armor you can't pick the Pld body.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that we won't have to do anything special to augment these specific pieces, but rather we'll be able to chose our bonues when we get the item. Other Armors will be different, and will grant different boosts, but these three will be special in multiple ways.

Also, am I the only one hoping AF/Relic makes the list of augmentable gear?

Being a complete noob in the world of endgame i cant really comment on the AF/relic armour. Only got the AF1 pieces for sam and drg atm, an there nothin special outside macro swaps. Being able to upgrade the +1s tho mite be good tho if i ever get any. [off post i know so dont all jump on me but if any1s got a good endgame shell on bismark let me know in PM not on here] They probable wont put any rare ex pieces on the upgradeable list.

Well I was wondering about the just body too, because they gave that extra icon marker in the first screen of it, and they never really had a unique icon one thing before since it is built. Because it would be really strange to have set like mythril and every part having +10 acc would be kinda unbalanced and make upgrading armor sets less required for alot of levels. Also maybe those are the highest upgrades ones meant for end game characters, because those kinda of buff 40-60 would have you slaughting the normal xp mobs, well slaughting more easily I should say.

I was original kinda disappointed that it was going to be rare ex at first. But the idea of personal set is cool, but I was wondering for stuff like the armor storage npc would these armors no longer apply because they still wouldn't be +1.

I wouldn't really expect any Rare/Ex gear to be augmentable, but I would be lying if I said I wasn't hoping that I could put 5% haste on my Chapeau.

they didn't add haste yet. Maybe they'll add that if they decide to put more augments into the game. Or maybe they might add it since the above list isn't necessairily the final list.

Most likely, the buffs a piece of armor could get would depend entirely on the actual armor itself. And I doubt any other pieces, if not very few, would see boosts as strong as the ones we see on these bodies.

And this list of augmented stuff, I'm betting is NOT for the lower level gear that can be augmented... This is just for the 75 Bodies. The other augmented gear will have their own set of stuff to choose from

My main fascination is with SMN Augs'. If I am able to up grab pieces of gear that normally don’t get negatives on the Prep costs that would be Nuckin Futs for SMN's all around... My Garuda costs me 5mp/tick w/o refreshes of any kind. I can only hope to have a Free Garuda or Fernir soon...

I can't remember if it was with ToAU or WotG, but the registration server was slammed with everyone trying to register the new content ID when the expansion launched. If you want to dig into the new content right after it launches, buying it now and thus registering the ID ahead of time might be a good idea.
