They're creative events but not necessarily creative fights.

I can't say I'm excited about the events varying according to the method used - that could potentially mean I have to go out of my way to get the rewards I want - but if SE has found a way to check how you're fighting a mob, then maybe we'll see smarter mobs in the future instead of dumb-as-brick mobs that can only pick TP moves at random or mobs that simply have an immunity to whatever you're trying to use on them (Bind, Sleep, Gravity, whatever.)

I'm just sayin SE has always thrown in plenty of little twists and such into their fights, even as far back as good ol' fashioned BCNMs. And varying rewards due to methods used in the fight are certainly nothing new, as shown by the final Ashu Talif BC, where your final rewards depend on how well you can clear a path to and surprise attack the boss. This new system just seems to be taking that concept and running with it.

Like Armando said, though, I am very intrigued to see if S-E is further testing the waters in determining which method was used to kill a mob with these rewards. IIRC, there's already that one fight with the guy who becomes immune to Magic, Ranged, or Melee damage, depending on which you used the most of. I guess we can only wait and see to even have a glimpse at the fruits of their stratagems.

There's nothing novel about Nyzul mobs. Likewise, most Assault and many ENM mobs are simply ordinary fights against a mob with one or two quirks. The novelty of the events lie in the obstacles and objectives, but the fights themselves are pretty ordinary. In the end the mobs' behavior is pretty much set in stone and highly predictable.
