Well, okay, no cap. I'm just curious how the level of the mobs etc. is determined, since this is one of those features supposedly aimed at not-just-75s. Whether that's something you set manually, or whether you have to find/buy vouchers/tabulas/runes of the appropriate level, or what.

(btw, the French get the word "moblyrinth" for these. Totally what I'm calling them from now on.)

During fanfest they said the level of the maze was based on the level of the order maker, and when a level 75 enters the maze, the mobs are EM+ to that 75

So I am guessing the mobs are the level of the order maker.

I just hope it really is a 200g fee.

But knowing SE it wouldn't surprise me if they "adjusted" it to 20k or something.

I was only asked to pay 100g

Re: Delve Deep with the Moblin Maze Mongers! (12/17/2008)

Hmm, well, we know how accurate the english translations are, though. My reading and guess there is that they were saying there was no minimum level to use the content (whereas, for instance, Assault has a level 50 minimum). But it's possible capping isn't implemented. Whether that was a design decision or simply didn't make it into the first release, who knows.

Edit: Seems instead of capping, they just made the content appropriate to the weakest party member, thus giving you an incentive to level sync if you want decent xp returns, or to go in with wildly disparate levels if you want an easy slaughter.

Re: Delve Deep with the Moblin Maze Mongers! (12/17/2008)

Okay, I come bearing FIRST HAND EXPERIENCE!!

Maze was 100gil, just for the party leader. My mission was to kill all baddies. We had 14 enemies, all Even Match. 6 Roc type mobs, 8 Beetles. Our BST used his Compass (expels you from maze) after the first mobs, so we beat it just 4 chars. Time limit is 30 minutes. You got experience and drops from the mobs that you would from an EM. Got a couple kindred seals, and bunches of roc feathers. When wje beat the maze, we got 500exp and 15 Marbles. The Eyepatch only costs 10 marbles ^^. Maze Runes and objectives are all 100 marbles +. You can buy different Tabula Layouts with Marbles, or get a basic one for 100 gil if you drop it. Using a Maze does NOT consume runes.

Definately a fun thing, for only taking 20 minutes. I can't wait until I get some more objectives and runes. Later, I'm going to run through it with a DNC duo, see how hard it turns up.

Probably changes based on the size/complexity of the Maze. Which makes sense, to get bigger challenges and better rewards, you pay more gil.

The way I see it, SE wanted everyone to be able to access and experiance this, so if you make a Maze as a lvl 20 and bring a 75 Friend, they'll just kill EXP. So instead, while you're in there, you can just lvl Synch and take care of that problem. No fuss, no muss.

How are the Rune things accessed in your inventory, or do they have their own version of an inventory all their own? I don't know anything about pup but SE said this would be similar to their attachments, if so how does it work?

Re: Delve Deep with the Moblin Maze Mongers! (12/17/2008)

They're spell scrolls. You use the rune, and then you have access to it from the Tabula menu.

ETA: Second maze was a pain. The mobs were all EP, but they were Hecteyes and Elementals. Thank god we had BLUs around, or we'd be in trouble of losing due to time. 300 exp for winning. In the treasure chests, each time there seems to be a rune. My group was doing your maze your drop, and I got a Dark Magic rune.

There obviously were more problems with if, or they wouldn't have taken it down. One of the big problems was that if more than one person at a time traded their Tabula to the npc in the stables, it would cancel each other out, which made it a pain to get into the maze.

well one way to help that, would be to place one of those holes in the beginning nations chocobo stables as well as the one in lower Jeuno

.....well now that I think about it, it would not help that much, but *shrugs*
