I was really thinking of the Carby Mitts and the Level 1 Spirit Pacts when I said that. All obviously much more suited to one who has been there and back before, in terms of leveling. But maybe in that regard, I am crying over spilt milk. I, too, would like to see the direction taken with the new summons, in any case. If the job really is lacking in variety, S-E could try making some more scrolled summons if they didn't want to add an epic sort of being.

My Mood: | Re: December Version Update Preview (11/17/2008) Ditto that. As a stand alone game it was a good game.....and you have to actually play the entire damn thing. It's when people start comparing it to Crono Trigger that they piss and moan. December update........whoo....

fffffffffffffffffff I need my stupid Jeuno > Whitegate warp already! I'm also really, really hoping they increase the number of armor sets that are storable, to at least include Ultima/Omega sets, Kirin's Osode set, and Nyzul sets. It's getting somewhat ridiculous that I only have 4 75 jobs, and even with storing AF sets for each one when not using them, I'm literally a Temenos mat drop away from my inventory being completely destroyed since HQing a piece makes the rest of the set unstorable. I have maxed storage minus maybe 3 extraneous furnishings, go somewhat out of my way to make sure I get things that are shared between 2-3 of my jobs whenever possible, and still it looks like I might not even be able to enjoy leveling a 5th job due to inventory restrictions. Ideally they'd implement some sort of 'job locker' system, where I can lease a smaller locker of 20ish slots for each job, so that I can put the stuff that are only for that job there and only access it when I actually play that job and need them. I have lots of R/E stuff that even though I don't use them that often(especially BRD gear) I don't exactly want to just drop them because they'd be difficult/impossible to aquire again, like extra NQ AF/AF2 pieces after upgrading and things like Star Necklace/Kard/Swan Bilbo/Epsilon Earring.

My Mood: | Re: December Version Update Preview (11/17/2008) Ditto on both of these! Several times in the past couple of weeks I've thought "DAMN IT I could use that Jeuno>WG warp!" As for storage, they really need to do this. They keep adding equips but don't expand the storage enough.

Yeah, S-E always adds all of these neat items in each update, but inventories (Gobbiebag, et al) are far too seldom upgraded to accommodate this. It would seem that they are but recently beginning to realize this.

I'll concede the story is quite campy.

As it currently stands, THF's problem is that no one cares about what support it can provide, and no one wants to cooperate with them to maximize their DD potential. Which in the worst case can turn them into a painfully lackluster DD who just autoattacks for TP and Dancing Edges at every opportunity. I've been in this situation, where people just will not stand still, or choose awkward positions that make the mob run around just enough to screw over TA, and of course hate is bouncing everywhere constantly so there's no hope of ever landing SA. I don't know what DNC's problems at endgame are per se, but as far as the call for it dropping off at higher levels, I suspect it's probably due to the notion that you shouldn't waste more than one party slot on healing; if DNC can't be a party's sole healer, what's the point in having one when even a THF without party cooperation would still give you better damage output? Sure they can debuff, but who cares about debuffing a mob at the levels where they're supposed to be going down so fast you can chain indefinitely? In short, DNC can't even come close to comparing to RDM, WHM, or SCH here, so they instead are competing with WAR, SAM, DRK, DRG, etc.

I agree with Lunaryn's point, but I would also like to point out that these are basically the same problem: wimpy mobs.
