I think it coule be fun - oh, not the inevitable "mah Dun-gee-pwn is 99 times harder then yurz" BS I'd like to see a variety - at various levels.

How about a series of Dungeons designed for TRAINING? RDM dungeons for every ten levels made with the IDEA of soloing in mind?Sam Dungeons that teach proper WS timing and usage.

This could be a fun time a great tool or a lame excuse for stupidity, we'll see

I hope its something that's useful on its own but not so much that people dont want to go out and experience the other zones in the world.

Well, when SE wasn't talking about the dungeon creator, they did once talk about private areas in which PTs could EXP. Pehaps something got lost in the translation and they were actually talking about the dungeons in reference to that.

But Balfree, we already have a game where people only believe in two or maybe three merit camps and continue to neglect all the old ones. Even with warps and teleports and quests to put them within spitting distance of these areas, they still don't go even though there's no real competition in those areas.

That is true... and SE can't really keep releasing zones just so people can move somewhere else and ignore older spots... eventually something's gonna give. I guess these dungeons can be a solution to that little problem.

This discussion brings up a semi-important point (assuming it hasn't been asked, though I may have missed it): will they be instanced?

AFAIK, nothing within the game right now is (except maybe assaults? Been some time since I've done one), and not making this instanced would surely defeat any probability of xping within it...

Though, from the description and what little I can gather from this thread lends itself to being instanced, I think it's established that SE doesn't necessarily like doing it.

Assaults and Nyzul Isle are instanced. I don't know about Salvage and Einherjar.

I see a lot of novel ideas flying about potential uses for user-created dungeons but odds are we're going to have to work to obtain the stuff that goes into the dungeons. I doubt it'll be like "here, make whatever you want. If you pay me this much I'll let you build a bigger one."

Not all of them are and the ones that are aren't true instances and have a limit.

Wings of Fury, for example, which is also the BCNM that plays host to DRG job BCNM, is outside in Gheselba Outpost. You can watch it from outside the fence and no one else can get in til the PT inside is done.

I like that BC because I get to watch PLed BSTs enter and fail horribly because they never learned about pet hate.

Most BC zones are large areas with identical battlefields so they're not truely instanced. They're just able to fit 4-5 groups in at the same time, yet far enough away to not be noticable to each other.

Mog houses are the best example of 100% instanced areas. And they're customizable too, so that's another thing they share. Most likely these new areas will be set up like Mog Houses are. Most likely the change to allow people to visit other's MH may have been the catalyst in creating this new concept.

The release to manufacturer concerns you? I mean, granted SE releases a lot of updates, and certainly has their share of bugs, but for the most part their expansions aren't much to be worried about. Besides, this is likely to come through in an update, not in an expansion.
