Oh yeah one last huge pet peeve of mine. Can we please make merits less of a chore? There's already 20 jobs (and more to come I'd imagine) to play around with and merit. So, can SE please change it already so that we either; 1) Need less points to earn and merit and/or 2) Make merits fully refundable. I and a number of my friends have all merited our first jobs we took to 75 that none of us ever touch anymore. It'd be great if I could take off those Double Attack merits and dump them into say AM2 >_>. |

Merits are there to help differentiate "full time" players of a job and "part time" players of a job. If they were just something you could pick up and move around at any time, it would remove the one thing that actually helps differentiate two people of the same job. Merits force you to actually prioritize what job and role you want to be most effective in, and I personally like the way that system works. Though I wouldn't be above a half return on points when pulled from merits.

I'm pretty much against any return from merits. It'd make it too easy for someone to decide to move merits from one ability to another from event to event. Even if there was a one week cooldown on it, I'd be against it. I wouldn't mind it if we could have say, two fully merited jobs at some point, and I'm talking about the Tier I/II job abilities here. I would LOVE it if furniture set in my moghouse didn't take up space in my mogsafe. Do that one little thing for me and I'd free up something like 40-50 spaces worth of inventory. Also... If SE turned merits into a glorified materia system, I'd be really disappointed with them. Merits are intended to customize your character in an impactful way, getting refunds on merits would cheapen the system

I certainly wouldn't fuck with merits after I maxed mine out if I could just move em about all willy-nilly. Alternatively, grinding out 50k exp for one more sword merit does teeter on the slightly outrageous side. I'm not exactly against the reduction of merit points needed to increase certain (re: all) categories. | |

I don't even mind meriting anymore. Hell, it's become a part of endgame life. You get to 75, you spend time in the Thickets (or in my case, in the Mountain) racking up the limit points. I never put a lot of stock into merits before, but now that I'm starting to build them up higher and higher it does feel pretty nice to have them done, and the more merits I get, the more I want. It would suck hardcore if people didn't want to merit anymore because they can just move merits. Poor newbies to 75. Only benefit would be open camps but if you go at the right time (weekday afternoons) you generally won't have problems finding good camps open anyway.

AFV3 anyone? Throw it somewhere in the past. (and make it actually worth using all the time. It should be a symbol of the job not comething that you just macro into for a spell or a WS) Connect the past people to it, ie? Rainemard's Tabard for RDM stuff like that. Most of the AF armor now has a story that ties to the crystal war.

So I'm the only one who's completely fed up of meriting altogether? I dunno, maybe it's time I finally quit the game. I largely stay on for the story content and I like messing with the different jobs but lately I don't have nearly as many friends to talk to as I used to as someone who'd like to take all jobs to 75 and fiddle around with merits... Well, grinding out that much EXP just isn't my thing. |

You're not the only one who dislikes merit parties, but there are other ways of obtaining those merits, so it works out nicely for me at least.

I used to hate merit parties but now I take it in small doses. I get my merits these days from the solo BLM camp in Mt. Z. Much less stressful, and I've accomplished more in the past two weeks than I have since I first hit 75, lol.

When you have a good means of soloing merits, the whole aspect of meritting becomes a lot less stressful. Most of my best Campaign EXP is on COR/DNC. I can meet a healing cap, take lots of damage and give lots of damage to the standard NM. I've sometimes seen 4k+ in campaigns because of that. And of course, COR is a meritwhore job to start with so its never a problem getting them if I want them I little faster. TP or Manaburn, either works. SCH has the same amount of freedom. I might not have haste, but i've never been turned down from the melee burns because I can practically eliminate PT damage taken and not really need any Refresh support to accomplish that. And I can solo the manaburn camps or duo/team up there with relative ease. Because of that, I don't think I'll ever use my BRD for meritting purposes again, just to cap EXP as needed and then set it aside for events if its needed. |

Yeah pretty much same here. I can merit on RDM anytime I want to, and if I'd rather take my own time, I'll go duo with my boyfriend or solo. Campaign is sometimes an option as well, though I tend to let CK log me in and use me as a curebot for himself during CB. It works out. He gets to stay alive in Campaign, and I get to get xp/lp and AN while I'm in class. Truthfully, soloing merits is probably the best thing about BLM for me right now. I'm finally getting shit done that I should have gotten done months ago.

I hate Exp/merit pts, but I <3 campaign. And when I really get into it I can easily bust out a few merits and have fun doing it. Throw level Synch into the mix, where I can help my lowbie friends get Exp and gain merits at a decent rate myself, and it's just that much better.

I was thinking, if they added a team speak to the system so all three system users can talk with each other. I know I know it could cause more problems than it can help. But still it could be an option friends in LS can use, /shurg, I doubt they'd do it. But some ppl do it, so it could go the way of a windower for the PC. |
