Or maybe old items (Like Ray's Joyeuse) will drop from these new monsters. Sorta the reverse of the rare/ex NM drop change thing.
Man I hope so. But if not it would still be great getting something like an Enhancing Dagger and an "occasionally attacks twice" one (with a decent DMG rating) from it.
Unless they are already in the game and I don't know about them that is.
Edit > For a PLD sword how about one with double added effect with a 50% chance each? Something along the lines of a 1/5 potency En-voke and a strong En-light effect (100-150 added damage).
With a nifty Emnity +6 stat and maybe Physical/Magical dmg taken -5%.
Sanctuary of Zi'tah! "In this world, the one who has the most fun is the winner!"C.B.
As long as we're on this Nyzul tangent, I'd like to see 10% dmg down on the new sword (to go along with Defending Ring and the Valhalla gear) and for the BLM staff to basically encompass all 8 HQ staves in one (+15% MAB/MACC) to save on inventory space and maybe some other extra doodad, like a huge boost to magic bursts.
Gawd dang it SE why the hell did you have to do and do that?
Haven't you claimed to fix enough this patch? I mean seriously, now you're going to make some Notorious Monsters actually worthwhile to persue? Damnit don't I have enough good things in this game to keep me occupied with?
Why couldn't you just keep the system the same and leave it horribly broken for the bots to dominate claims on so I would brush it off as something I'd never want to involve myself with, eh? Now I gotta sit and wonder if any of these NMs are ones I wanna do, and then decide if there's a linkshell I actually want to do them with.
Damn SE, its like you want me to play this game seriously or something.

. . . {I'm sorry} Hyrist, but that just lacked funny.
Hey, that's what this forum needs more than a {No thanks!} button: an {I'm sorry.} button! FAR more potential applications than {No thanks!}!

QUIT FIXING STUFF!
[/sarcasm]
I think this is an improvement over the "How dare SE fix something when some other thing is clearly more broken" lament that we so commonly see in patch threads.
This must have been designed by the same people who came up with Limbus, Campaign Ops, Nyzul and Assault because it falls more under the "stuff you can do with friends" concept instead of "shit you have to do with assholes" concept.

the development team has decided to implement some changes to make the excitement of NMs—even those of the same caliber as particularly infamous varieties inhabiting Tu'Lia and Al'Taieu—more accessible to all.
I don't think they'd be comparing them to Sky and Sea if they didn't have some great rewards.
Using phrasing along the lines of "NMs of the same caliber as Sky and Sea NMs" speaks more of their difficulty and epic factor than rewards if you ask me. Yeah, the rewards will probably be good, but I have to side with Lmnop in that it'd be foolish to expect an easy way to get hard drops like Abjurations.

No one's asking for an easy way to get that stuff, but this system they're introducing seems a tad more progressive than standing in a zone and competing with a bunch of claimbots or sky RMT.
The problem with Sky and Kings is that its just sitting in a zone kind of playing FFXI as opposed to actually playing it. Lots of camping, ooh a window, then back to PSP or whatever you were doing if someone's claimbot didn't get it or the window passed.
Thrilling.
The only way SE can really fuck this up is if NMs are required to camp to make this thing work, then we're back at square one.
Just seems exactly as progressive as Nyzul Isle to me.
Once again! I like more Nyzul Isle/Assault/whatever systems where everyone can participate. But I'm not going to consider this a "Ground HNM fix" until I know the facts.
