Preview of Adjustments for June Version Update (Part 2) (05/20/2008)

As a part of our continuing efforts to improve the convenience and enjoyment of life in Vana'diel, we plan to introduce several changes that include the appearance of nomad moogles in Selbina and Mhaura, as well as adjustments to the supply quests.

Read on to discover what the upcoming version update holds in store.

Nomad Moogles in Selbina and Mhaura
After considering the continuing influx of new players, the changes made to the offer requirements for several quests, and the special task force's efforts in maintaining a fair and balanced playing environment, we have decided that the inclusion of nomad moogles and delivery NPCs in Selbina and Mhaura will prove to be a beneficial addition to the game.
Look forward to these new arrivals in the next version update!

Supply Quest Records
As you are no doubt aware, in order to make use of the regional teleport services, it is first necessary to complete a supply quest to the outpost in question. We will be implementing a change wherein along with your mission rank and conquest points, a record of completed supply quests will now be retained even after transferring your allegiance to another nation.

Item Autosort Function
This particular function has been requested many times by the community, and is scheduled to be implemented along with the various other adjustments introduced in recent Topics.
As well as the difficulties encountered in preventing potential misuse, we have avoided the implementation of this function in the past in order to prevent confusion for crafters—items carefully separated for synthesis would have been forcibly stacked.
However, with the same consideration given to the placement of nomad moogles in Selbina and Mhaura, we believe that the current stability of FINAL FANTASY XI allows for this feature to be introduced without adversely affecting gameplay.

Players will be provided with the option to deactivate automatic sorting as part of the new function we have planned.

Wow, to me this is an unnecessary change. I liked not having them there, it gave a sense of adventure to be out in the dunes or Bubu and know that moogles were so far away. But hey, SE thought better.

Though I must say, I love the autosort!!!

Re: Preview of Adjustments for June Version Update (Part 2) (05/20/2008)

For a new player it's very hard to keep walking back and forth between nation and the dunes, and there's a reason they're "Nomad" Moogles, not a Mog-House-Moogle.

In my opinion, this should've been done 5 years ago.

We did it for years, and got along very well without it. And actually, they already have it easier with OP warps. We didn't even have that.

It's about darn time! It's kinda annoying to have to walk back to town everytime you wana swap jobs or grab equips. I can't count how many times those nasty sand bats in the tunnel have killed off my character on my way to the highlands!

Re: Preview of Adjustments for June Version Update (Part 2) (05/20/2008)

It's things like this that I look at and laugh. I had a friend start playing this game, but he got burnt out too easy and blamed it on the difficulty and vastness of complications. Every time they add an update like this that further makes the game easier, older veterans like us can only remember when shit was much harder.

They make it easier and there are still people saying, "Omg, it's too hard... They need to make it easier" While we sit back and say, "Holy shit...I just finished leveling my last job through the Dunes.... >.< dmnit... That would have been nice to have.. I don't know 5 years ago?"

I see the benefit here, but I think it is more of an update for the people who have not played as long as some and might only encourage the older players to level the few jobs they just weren't in the mood to deal with. All in all great, just sucks they waited this damn long to do it.

Okay, I am I the only one that burst out laughing (in the middle of school, might I add ) when they read "Nomad Moogles in Selbina?"

Looks like they are moving to Selbina for our noob behinds!

Just saw this, and I have to say: it's about dang time, too! (Funny, I was IMing somebody about it fairly recently, like a few weeks ago.)

A really nice update... ...that's 5 years too late.

Better late than never, I suppose, but then again, kinda pointless now...

Good stuff. All long-requested changes. Maybe after the update I'll finally do the other nation missions.

Losing my starting area OP warps is what kept me from doing the Sandy and Windy storylines in the first place. It'd be nice to actually do the other stories instead of just reading the spoilers online simply cuz I'd lose all those OP warps if I did...

You are still going to lose the OP warps while you are in a new nation. You will only get them back when you go back to a previous nation where you had them.
IE, you have them all in Windy, and switch to Sandy, you have to get them all again for Sandy. However, when you go back to Windy, they will be there.

Too bad I already finished them all;;

You know, I have to agree with Feba in a way... while not to the same extent, it does seem like they're taking out a lot of the fun in the game with the nomad moogles and auto-sorting. Granted, auto-sort is a nice function, but it may be best if it were implemented as an option, not as something that's always on.

I'll probably keep on playing, but really... those bats in the dunes were the best place to teach someone about agro and avoidance, even for those who had a higher job and never learned (yes, they're out there).

LOL... move Moogle into Dunes make a lot easier for..... { Raise }

Does that encourage players to join Dunes parties instead of solo up to level 20 when leveling new jobs?

After wishing for years, auto-sort function finally is coming.
