Yeah... they kinda said in the update details that you would be able to turn this off if you deem neccessary. I can see it being very handy, because they kind of did it to a small degree with the Imperial coins you buy with points. Those auto sort naturally. There may be others, but those are the only ones I am aware of.

I personally can't think of too many instances it would be a bad thing to have except for when your trying to fill up your inventory for certain reasons.

Auto-sort makes as much sense as the ability to carry 60 beds around with me does, so really this is long overdue. Nomad moogles in non-outland cities do not. They're like staying in a motel when you're an hour away from home.

To all saying nomad moogles inclusion is weak. Remember that, unlike (or perhaps compared to) previous earlier years, the Dunes are absolutely, completely, tragically dead now.

EDIT: I guess what I am saying is, with things the way they are now, ANYTHING which makes levelling in the Dunes that much more appealing to the playerbase at large is a Good Thing in my book.

And how is putting a moogle in selbina going to fix that? It wont draw mass amounts of people who will suddenly want to level lower jobs. If the OP change didn't effect it, a moogle in Selbina wont.

At most, the change will be good for someone who forgot something in Mog house. Or for someone who is fishing on the boat and uses Moogle to hold extra bait. Other than that, it wont bring out more people to level, as the people you are looking to bring out, have already been through there enough times without a moogle to not make a difference.

Yeah about all I see the moogle thing being useful for is changing to a different job on the fly in dunes... Problem for me is I only have 3 jobs not through dunes and two of them never will be lol.

Re: Preview of Adjustments for June Version Update (Part 2) (05/20/2008)

There are lots of dunes PTs on Odin every day, but I still don't really see the point in implementing the moogles now, especially since the update to Outposts a while back. Getting to and from my nation hasn't really been a problem since then. This is just added convienince, I suppose. At the very least, it will be easier for people to get raises, but most people I know just solo thier subjobs to 37 now.

Auto-Sort I welcome.

And getting to keep my outpost if I change nations? All right! Now I can finally do those San'doria and Bastok Missions and cap out my mission status.

Re: Preview of Adjustments for June Version Update (Part 2) (05/20/2008)

I agree, it isn't much. AT all. And may well not have any noticeable effect. But it is something at least.

The point I'm making though is that the Dunes of old is not the Dunes of today.

That place could do with a little bit of love. It's an important damn zone for every new player. That said - and specifically because it's important (mandatory, almost) - I do not see this as 'dumbing down'. Simply because the Dunes is a lot more difficult to get through than it used to be (should be).

Re: Preview of Adjustments for June Version Update (Part 2) (05/20/2008)

I hear this almost every time they add something "nice but to late" or"(y#) years to late"

for the love of god can people not say "yay" anymore? its like everything is a constant disappointment to most people.... get over it geez -.-

I have been playing as long as most everyone here, started with PC release, and every time there is an update that adds something, all you hear is bitching.

Re: Preview of Adjustments for June Version Update (Part 2) (05/20/2008)

I'm very excited for auto-sort, as a console player I couldn't exactly use LightLuggage, and while not a big bank deal all of the crystals and feathers that get trashed during meripo when I'm too busy to sort can easily pay for my food/ammo/shihei, not to mention the amount of BS/KS that I see fall into the trash during a heavy-duty party.

I'm going to go with 'better late than never' for the Selbina moogles, had this been 4 years ago I'd throw a party over it with funny hats and a cake, but I'm still glad they're adding it.

Am I the only one who did not fucking understand how auto-sort could adversely affect crafters for my life? What the hell items get 'carefully separated' before crafting?

Lets assume you're crafting Status Bolts. You need a Crystal, Ingot, and the Bolt Heads. You will produce 33, 66 or 99 of that status bolt.

Before auto-sort, you could put the Crystal stacks, Ingot stacks, and bolt heads together in your inventory and the results would take their place at the bottom of your inventory.

Auto-sort will put the crystals at the top of your inventroy, the rest of the materials at the bottom and the results will be somewhere in the middle of your inventory where your gear is since auto-sort puts your inventory in the order of

Consumables
Gear and Weapons
Stuff you can't use

Hunting around your inventory when crafting is irritating. Then again, with the ability to turn auto-sort off it won't be a problem.

Re: Preview of Adjustments for June Version Update (Part 2) (05/20/2008)

If auto-sort is set up so it literally does a "sort/auto" as it would be done manually, then this would be the case.

However, if it's done as LL does, it just moves things into similar stacks without actually changing the order of anything (except to move things below what was moved up one).

That's one thing I liked about LL as a crafter doing bolts/arrows frequently: I could still arrange all my materials as crystals/arrow heads/lumber, and it would put the result into a stack at the bottom of the list.

And, I think I was still tired when I read this earlier, I didn't see that last sentence.
