Now if those INT and MND boosts weren't just in Assault/Salvage, then we're talking good. I'll take Ulthalam's ring any day. Not too many things will actually out do that macc in terms of endgame. Last edited by Sevv : 05-09-2008 at 10:30 AM. I used seer's for WHM in 30 caps, BLM in 40 and SCH in 50 caps. Granted, a little over two years ago, I actively used RDM and BRD as well, which crunched down my inventory a little more. But I put BRD to sleep after I finished CoPs on SCH. Goodbye BRD, I don't need you now muahahahahaha.
COR and RNG use Noct not only to AF level, but 30-50 caps until AF at 60 caps. Tremendous amount of overlap in gear.
I only have one mule, its mostly for the level capped bows and some mage gear for level caps, in addition to excess ammo storage. My inventory space on both characters is pretty open. I'm pretty much set on levelling compatible jobs with compatible gear, I've found it the mosts satisfying way to approach just about everything between my two characters. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 05-09-2008, 11:11 AM | #35 (permalink) | | Still a Savage. It would be nice if NPCs allowed storage of incomplete sets of gear, or if I equipped(or even carried), whole sets, in my inventory or storage. But they don't, and I don't. So we're at an impasse. Or do you just mean you wouldn't want to do *those specific* missions again but wouldn't mind another set of expansion missions with similar difficulty?
A lot of people seem to forget it now, but CoP was the way it was because people complained (rightly) about breezing through RoZ with high level characters. One of the best fights in CoP was the airship battle - capped at 60.
A nice side effect of level caps is that it equalizes gear somewhat. No destroyers, no abj gear, no k clubs or ridill - you wear what everyone else wears, or at most, HQ of what everyone else wears. This makes the fights more about having a good strategy and carrying it out, and less about having your level, merits and gear win for you. (Merits do still count some, which I think is a dumb idea because pretty much by definition non-75 content is not balanced for them, but they won't win the fight on their own.) Defeated: Maat, Divine Might, Fenrir, Kirin, Cactrot Rapido, Xolotl, Diabolos Prime, Kurrea, 9/10 Dynamis Bosses (missing Tav), Promathia, Proto-Ultima, Proto-Omega, 4 Jailers, Apocalypse Nigh
RDM75, PLD75, DRG75, DNC24, COR25, RNG24
Windurst Rank 10, ZMs & PMs Complete, AUMs Complete, First Lieutenant, Steelknight Emblem | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 05-09-2008, 03:55 PM | #41 (permalink) | | Keeper of Knowledge Join Date: May 2006 Location: Al'Taieu Posts: 2,306 Style: Light - Version 6 My Mood: Thanks: 419 Thanked 381x in 259 Posts Gil: 7,954 Bank: 6,078 Total Gil: 14,032 Donate | Re: Wings of the Goddess Missions! (05/09/2008) IMO, The ToAU rings sucked. And I'm still wondering if there's some kind of hidden latent on the Glory Crown or if it's really just a sick joke on SE's part.
The assault clauses are certainly flavorful, but also seriously annoying. Zilart and CoP both offered far superior rewards. Maybe if they just removed the assault clauses and/or doubled the effects during assault (why not throw in besieged/salvage/etc too?) then they'd be great.
But as of now not one of the 3 rings (even the ranged one, hawt as it is) matches Suppa, Magnetic or Rajas. It'd be nice if when we beat WotG we got something different too, maybe a neck piece as opposed to another freaking ring or earring.
EDIT: And you're welcome Ameroth Most of that should be common knowledge anyway as it is or at least was at one point on the website. And if Odin being being in charge of the underwold is a shocker than perhaps people need to brush up on Norse Mythology and SE's tendency to warp various myths. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | The following user says "Thank You" to Malacite for above post: | | | 05-09-2008, 06:58 PM | #44 (permalink) | | Alone Oracle of Knowledge Join Date: Jul 2005 Location: Boston Posts: 3,145 Style: Light - Version 6 My Mood: Thanks: 251 Thanked 295x in 206 Posts Gil: 11,654 Bank: 21,106 Total Gil: 32,760 Donate | Re: Wings of the Goddess Missions!
