Re: Mog Bonanza
The economy is going to be so screwed after this a lot of new players are going to be shafted due to the rise in prices of people winning 100-10mil off a lucky pull.

It's still a jazzy way to get items we can't get on our own ^^

On another note, I find it funny that they have one Absolute Virtue item up there and picked the Great Katana of all things.

Only the Rank 4 items will be screwed. Chances are there will be hardly anyone winning a lot of the Rank 3 and above items, as the resources to gaurantee a Rank 3 item is so much/not worth the effort compared to Rank 4 items (10 characters is all you need, covering each of the last 2 digits). 100k investment for a 600k~ return (assuming you pick a behemoth hide), not so bad, depending on how people decide to "play this". You'll just have to be lucky (hey it's a lottery, right?) to win anything Rank 3 and above.

Still, it might be a good idea to sell your Dusk stuff now and buy it back in 2 months. HQs of Dusk may possibly be cheaper too, but dependable. Crafters are likely to benefit.

Re: Mog Bonanza
Honestly, I don't think it's going to be that big a deal. There likely won't be that many winners.

Re: Mog Bonanza
I might have missed it since I went right to the prizes (LOL), but is this for each server or across all servers? Across all servers doesn't excite me one bit, I'll enter but then I'll just forget about it entirely.

No relic weapons? aww...

I'm torn though. So many good items @_ @; part of me says take the 100 mil since I'd be set for life, but then again... godly-freaking-items of power...

Re: Mog Bonanza
SE could get really lucky, and not have to hand out much at all, or really unlucky, and servers will have fucked up economies left and right. I wonder which it will be!

It's not the kind where that would matter. The jackpot isn't split among the winners. You match all five numbers, you get something from the Rank 1 list.

There is no rush. If you're not willing to take your time, don't be surprised when no one wants to give you much of theirs.

Well, not counting the bastards making new mules for this event, last I checked FFXI had about 1.7 million active characters.

Ten tickets or marbles or powerballs or whatever the hell they are per character, 17 million chances to win. Given that it's only 1/100,000 (I know, 'only', but it's very low compared to real lottos), that's about 170 Rank 5 winners; or about five winners per server on average.

Re: Mog Bonanza
And if you have multiple tickets that match the 5 numbers...

edit: Not that I honestly anticipate that happening.

Behemoth Hide and Krohma Ore markets just got destroyed since any two people with a few mules can guarantee a win.

I think for most of the lower-tier items, people will find that unless they need the item, they won't get much money for it, since everyone else will have one too.

Or at least a lot of other people.
