Enfeebs would become near-impossible to miss. | It would depend in part on how strong each trait was. If we only got, say, MAcc +4 from MAcc I at 10 and +2 to that at 30, 50, and 70, it wouldn't be quite so ridiculous (and IIRC, the MAcc from NQ staves is estimated at +10). -- Pteryx | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 04-28-2008, 05:59 AM | #110 (permalink) | | KILLDOZER Join Date: Apr 2004 Posts: 563 Style: Dark - Version 5 My Mood: Thanks: 24 Thanked 21x in 19 Posts Gil: 10,899 Bank: 2 Total Gil: 10,901 Donate | Re: Version Update Notice (04/25/2008) Ninja should get a new 2hr <_<! | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 04-28-2008, 06:45 AM | #111 (permalink) | | Opposite of Win :( Keeper of Knowledge Join Date: Apr 2003 Location: Queens, NY Posts: 2,565 Style: Light - Version 4 My Mood: Thanks: 357 Thanked 215x in 128 Posts Gil: 1,004 Bank: 30,144 Total Gil: 31,148 Donate | Re: Version Update Notice (04/25/2008) Originally Posted by Ameroth | As I shall demonstrate, the game actually does render a much larger draw distance, but then covers the majority of it with a veil of "fog" and lowers the sky ceiling so your client doesn't actually have to draw it. (The default is a drawdistance ratio of 1.0)

20 seems to be the highest value that you can use to produce noticable results. It's really amazing to get on an airship and actually be able to see far enough out to identify landmarks such as Heaven's Tower when flying past Windurst to Kazham, or being able to see Sauromugue Champaign off to the North East as you fly from Bastok to Jeuno.
I understand SE would like to keep the game fair and balanced for all systems, but really, does allowing a PC, or Xbox, to render the game how it's supposed to look really disturb the balance of gameplay?
Though the plugin says it increases draw distance for mobs, I've found this to be untrue as mobs, NPCs, and players still won't appear until within 50', though you can see much, much farther. In the end, this is truly an aesthetic adjustment to the game and has next to no impact on actual game-play.
Just saying, users shouldn't need to resort to 3rd party tools just to allow them to run the game how it's meant to run. | It is also Dependant on the Area. For my PC, the highest noticable change in Bastok is a value of 10.
I'm going to go to Lufaise, but I'm guessing I'll have to try 20.
Oh, where on the map would I stand to see the classic Tavnazia picture of the city in the background? Now I regret playing on PS2. Damn you crappy computer! "Using the same one-syllable word to describe everything you don't like might not be an indicator of a varied vocabulary, but who cares? Words are gay." This signature hereby receives the Kirby Seal of Approval.
