I said "love that boot", but I guess nuance is too much for you people
The topic is about too many people on Odin. I (not wanting to do anything to Fred's work and pass it off) just posted the entire thing but specifically noted the boot
Just change "Vana" to "Odin" and there ya go
EDIT: Yeah okay it was a bit vague but like I said, as an artist myself I don't like to tinker with other people's art for whatever reason. I just find that "Luv SE" boot so freaking priceless and appropriate. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 04-14-2008, 05:51 PM | #19 (permalink) | The BBQ Kitten Revolution FFXIWiki Team Join Date: May 2006 Location: Windurst Posts: 4,568 Style: Light - Version 6 My Mood: Thanks: 158 Thanked 1,264x in 704 Posts Gil: 35,512 Bank: 11 Total Gil: 35,523 Donate | Re: Odin World Character Population (04/14/2008) Had you seen the low quality of job play on Odin, combined with skewed and boarderline outlandish claims or "tests" (usually on Colibri or Boreal Hound) from players Pandy, you'd get the joke.
I've found people on smaller servers generally have an extremely skewed perspective on things, more often than not.
As for being called an elitist, I generally take that as a compliment. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 04-14-2008, 06:06 PM | #20 (permalink) | | Junior Member Join Date: Nov 2006 Location: Ireland Posts: 247 Style: Dark - Version 5 My Mood: Thanks: 24 Thanked 8x in 6 Posts Gil: 6,139 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 6,139 Donate | Re: Odin World Character Population (04/14/2008) I agree with wha's her name above ^^ Odin Besieged is absolute rubish atm barely a besieged goes bye with yee loosing 2/3 generals all because ppl r always fighting boss mobs to end besieed faster when they should kill lesser nms and protect generals. With anoverpopulated server 0/1 general should be lost lol I suppose you could argru the old case of quality/ quantity though | | ::Quote Selected:: | | The following user says "Thank You" to Kurb for above post: | | | 04-14-2008, 06:28 PM | #21 (permalink) | | Member Join Date: Sep 2006 Posts: 653 Style: Light - Version 6 My Mood: Thanks: 7 Thanked 28x in 25 Posts Gil: 17,905 Bank: 43,560 Total Gil: 61,465 Donate | Re: Odin World Character Population (04/14/2008) Originally Posted by Omgwtfbbqkitten | Had you seen the low quality of job play on Odin, combined with skewed and boarderline outlandish claims or "tests" (usually on Colibri or Boreal Hound) from players Pandy, you'd get the joke.

Having some time spent on Bahmut I found that people on highly populated servers tend to be very near sighted and self centers and only can see themselves in the big picture.
Elitist from what I've encountered are self centered brats who only care about their gain.

BBQ seems to be an elitist in both the positive and negative implications equally.
Although it seems odd that there'd be a noticeable difference in the population from one server but not others (not counting Remora/Hades, which are basically FFXI penal colonies) | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 04-14-2008, 10:14 PM | #23 (permalink) | | Chrome Velocity Join Date: Oct 2005 Location: Australia Posts: 33 Style: Dark - Version 6 My Mood: Thanks: 4 Thanked 3x in 2 Posts Gil: 3,161 Bank: 621 Total Gil: 3,782 Donate | Re: Odin World Character Population (04/14/2008) Originally Posted by Malevolent | Having some time spent on Bahmut I found that people on highly populated servers tend to be very near sighted and self centers and only can see themselves in the big picture.
Elitist from what I've encountered are self centered brats who only care about their gain. | Hm.. I'll have to disagree with you there.
I only recently (like, last month) left Odin and the LBR LS there to go back to my home server (from 2005), Bahamut, with Branwen, Murphie, Staryiko and other awesome Cake LS members.
I can honestly say the amount of "elitist" attitude is minimal here on Bahamut. It was a lot higher on Odin. Bahamut has a rather high population of JP players too.. But that doesn't change anything.
Seriously, all I could do was lol. And lol freakin' hard. This news article made my entire year already the most awesome. Ever.
Odin kinda needs to be brought down a peg or.. Seven. (Random number ftw?)
Anyway, yeah.
Either GTFO Odin yourself, get booted from Odin to somewhere else for once or risk Odin getting deleted from the list and being split up randomly.
I'll admit, the sudden spike has been the mass transfers to Odin by particular LBR community members, me being one of them, in the grand ol' "We borked Odinz server '07". I'd moved from Diabolos to Odin and soon after, BAM! News story about Odin being over-populated. I leave and BAMBAM! More news.
...Does SE even LOOK at Bahamut's server population? It is f**king huge. 700+ people in ONE Besieged is more than enough lag plzkthx. Bad enough with only 100+..

If I'm a bad person for not having respect for people with poor gear who level just for the sake of levelling instead of doing right by thier job, I'm happy to be an elitist. | Originally Posted by Zaneu | | I'll admit, the sudden spike has been the mass transfers to Odin by particular LBR community members, me being one of them, in the grand ol' "We borked Odinz server '07". More news. | I know we at LBR haven't waved a big flag telling people to come over to Odin. Yellow Mage and others might think otherwise, but really, we haven't. What's even more sad is when some people do think that (and I'm not saying you did), they think they're going to become some star guest host. Then when they don't become a "star" they to make jaded little blogs with these insane little conspiracy theories and ramble about how the forums are on "decline." These are our trolls. And for some reason, the like to start targeting the chicks on our forum when things don't go thier way.
Best one was "Selphiie's just dating you because you're an admin, BBQ," I always loved that one. Yeah, I became an admin for the chicks and rock and roll lifestyle. Our relationship as absolutely nothing to do with the fact we live rather close by, have talked a lot and are genuinely interested in each other. Nah, its all so I can moderate/admin in her favor. I'm so being used. I agree with omg...... too when I see a PLD lvl 2? wearing scale gear and using a GS.Drives me mad especially when he is lecturing me on how I should heal the "tank" which is him cause he is the PLD and not the MNK even though the mob is hitting the mnk < real tank > more.Servers need less ppl like that. It is the Law of Aeon Appeal. Simply put; the cooler the summoned beast, the more people want to play on that server. It certainly explains why there is nobody on Bismarck or Remora.
