Ladies and Gentlemen! Egg hunting season will soon be upon us, kupo! Moogles in all three nations are hard at work preparing the latest edition of the festival, for your hunting pleasure.

But there's more! This year we are also accepting posts about your egg-citing episodes when you first ventured into Vana'diel. Take a stroll down memory lane back to when you were just an egg; before you finally burst out of your calcium carbonate prison to spread your wings and become the seasoned adventurer that you are today, kupo.

With the weather warming up and the sun's rays bathing Master's bedroom in toasty goodness, all I want to do is lie down and--Zzz...Zzzzzz...
Whoops! I almost brought shame to the entire Moogle race by sleeping on the job, kupo. The reason I'm here is to tell you all about this year's Egg Hunt!

The Egg Hunt is coming soon to all three nations, kupo! The goal during this festival is to collect "initial eggs" that will be distributed by festival moogles. These special eggs are inscribed with letters, which when put together, spell out certain words and combinations, kupo. Some combinations may even snare you a prize, so collect these eggs and trade, trade, trade! You can trade not only with fellow adventurers, but with festival moogles in other nations as well.

For this year's festival, we will be accepting posts about your egg-citing early episodes in Vana'diel, before you had wings to fly, kupo. You may have now matured into a fully grown songbird, soaring high in the sky, but it wasn't so long ago you were just an egg, eagerly waiting for your hour in the sun to arrive. Send us a post about one of your early episodes to share with fellow adventurers, be it a touching tale, a sad story, or a failure so pathetic, you just had to laugh!

We would also love to hear from those who are still in incubation, kupo. Feel free to write about your dreams and aspirations in the wondrous world of Vana'diel. We look forward to receiving episodes from all of you, kupo!

This was one of the few events that was ruined for me by people selling their stuff.

I mean, come on now, I saw people charging other people to be invited into their party just so that they could get some hard to find letter.

The first time this event came around I actually saw people with V names being paid something like 10k-20k to be invited into a party so that the other person could get a V egg. That's always seemed just wrong to me.

Plus, I never liked the selling of eggs only and very little trading going on.

Although I DID like being black listed for pointing out that you could get a set of letters for a total of about 5k from the afk bazaars around the moogle and that the guy shouting to sell a set of eggs for 40k was a ripoff.

I'm a total sucker for this event for some reason. I don't know why, I just enjoy it. Even with the frustration and shouting and silly prices. The only eggs I ever used before were the HP/MP ammo ones, but I still can't help but try and get everything.

I remeber my first Egg Event. I was on a Mining/Smithing kick, doing nothing else in the game at the time. This was before ToAU release, so Jeuno was still the place everyone stayed and the starting cities were pretty empty. I was in San d'Oria running back and forth from Yuggot(SP?) Grotto, and hated all the people and lag the event brought to the city. Shouts and lag in South Sandy that made it feel like Lower Jeuno AH.

I got some picks and retreated to the solitude of mining in the Grotto, see my first mining point and hit my pickaxe macro...

I screamed on my LS. The damn Eggs had invaded every aspect of the game for me now, I could not escape.

So I just gave in, collected and participated, and got my Lucky and Fortune Eggs.

I've tried the egg hunt in the past, but it's not very easy collecting and trading all the letters I need, and was never able to get far enough to win any nice prizes from it. /sigh!

I'm interested to know..... what exactly are the prizes that you can win, (well obviously I can tell by the screenshot that "Lambeaus" posted that you can win an egg ornament for your mog house, and possibly a hat too) and what are their atributes and things?
What can the items give you? (i.e. how useful are they?)
