That is nothing new to me when I had my account stolen all i did was call in give my name credit card previously used address and FFXI reg codes bam I got my account back, what are they changing about it? seems like its always been this way.

In the case of my Room mate's the theif went in and changed the Credit Card Number, and Address for the Account. They can't change the Owner's Name nor Birth Date, but SE wouldn't help him because "at the time" he wasn't the owner of the Credit Card. And they swore they "Can't go back and see what Credit Card Number was used in the past 4 years ".

He gave them everything else, but the few people he talked to wouldn't budge, no help.

So we think once they get an account, now-a-days, with a lvl 75, they will "Steal" the account and sale it for more money. Another friend of ours got his hacked 3 times now, I know he's lazy , but they didn't steal his account, just gill and items. They changed his Password, but all he had to do was Call SE and give them his Credit Card info and change his Password so he can get access to it again. His highest lvl is 37.

So like, I mailed in my notory form over night after dealing with the whole compromised account issue. How long doese it take for SE to go over the form ? or roughly how long has others facing a compromised account problem had to wait to get their chars back?

ok so I was getting impataint and started called SE EVERY DAY 2 times a day. it was always the same old " YOUR FORM MAY BE IN THE FUCKIN BUILDING" "BUT IT HASNT BEEN NOTED TO YOUR ACCOUNT YET" BUT!!!! today I made a call and they told me the form has been noted to my account and I should hear from them soon. HOLY SHIT! I Hung the phone called them again and got the same answer from a different rep. just to make sure. Along with their poke assness I believe that I may indeed be getting my account back.

I know someone who got his account back, but it was never stolen; he had sold it to pay off some RL bills (makes sense, as RL > game) and then later when he determined he wanted his old character back, he just called SE and told them it was stolen.

I can't believe he got it back. Actually, I think it sucks that he got it back because now they're just condoning his behavior.

An update to my roommates account stolen back on 12-3-07. He recieved an email form SE telling him that they prove that the account was his. BUT it while it was compromised, it was banned, so now he's got to prove it wasn't him that got his account banned, now he has to:

1) Tell them his ID again.
2) Tell them again when it was hacked.
3) Give them his ISP he normally uses to access his account.

I hope this helps anyone to get prepaired incase your account that was hacked was banned during the Dark Ages at SE.

Actually, they do return the gear if you get enough people to bitch about it and threaten to quit over thier friend being compromised.

I gotta say though, a lot of the more recent hacks I've heard about - if they really were hacks - have been incredibly maclicious and personal ._. Talking about high end R/E drops, not your casual stipping of sellable items and gil like the RMT hackers do.

I still have been waiting for this so called e-mail from SE. I have called the fuck faces about 11 times. with them saying the investigation is over and they will try and resend the so called piece of shit reference number to i can re-claim my account. the only problem is I AM NOT GETTING THE e-mail. man i swear they are retarded or their supervisors do not exsist. I have been at this since mid november when i had trooper horton investigate my being compromised. he had a supeona and SE still gave him the ..i.. WHATS WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE! a legal lawsuit will probably happen i am sure but its out of my hands. meanwhile the new peice of shit policy came out so i did everthing asked and notorized a copy of the form and NOT TO MENTION I MAILED THE FUCKFACES a copy of my ID and College ID. anyway sorry i completely give up i am sick and tired of calling them day after day just to be told they will resend their form (LIES I SWEAR). FUCK FFXI AND FUCK SE
