In my head, it's "24-hour time." I come across it and use it all the time, and it's never anything to do with the military. But I'm one of those Americans, so my anecdotes don't mean much.

There are updates, and there are maintenances. Updates take as long as it takes for your PC/PS2/Xbox/dishwasher to download and install them. Apart from that time, they're instantaneous. Maintenances generally last a few hours; you can look here for a list of recent ones to get an idea of the general time span.

The two do not always go hand in hand. We get updates without maintenance, and maintenance without updates. They're usually further apart than this, but there tends to be a little flurry of them surrounding big updates and expansions.

I'm fine with the update since they're fixing stuff.. I just wish they would tell us ahead of time in such detail because I'm tired of people complaining about "ninja nerfs"..

Was the system message for the start of a battle really necessary? The sudden shift in music clued me in the 1st time I'd ever seen it. It's more fun that way too, especially if you're a newbie to WotG >. >b

And yes, please fix 100-Jump, Super-Counter (I died the other night 'cause a regular Orc mob in Campaign Battle counter attacked 4 consecutive hits...) and wtfFirebomb please.

For people who have game music turned off, perhaps?

I had a friend who never had his in-game music turned on. I tend to turn off mine a lot lately, and just run iTunes in the background. I try to remember to turn my game music back on whenever I got to someplace interesting. But sometimes I forget.

I like the game music too, even though it can get a little old and boring at times. Thats why I use itunes, while playing because its sometimes better then listening to music in windurst lol.

Yeah, but there's still that bit of "Oh shit!" time between the gobby grunt and the whack of death that starving deaf people with no sound cards are totally missing out on.

Well, to be fair, this is just the majority of Americans. Both of my clocks are set to 24-hour time. But then, one of them is in the upper right corner of my desktop, and the other one has a nice big "FINAL FANTASY XI" logo on it. As well as a very accurate clock depicting moon phases in a video game.

I could've sworn I've seen some shops that advertise their time in 24-hour, as well as some TV shows (particularly Discovery Channel/BBC productions), but other than that it's fairly rare in America.

Personally I think it's because remembering how to do it is too hard for most Americans. is hard mathitronics.

I love the game music but I have to keep it turned down very low so I can hear people talking on Vent. The things I endure ...

Also, I use a headset nowadays, so it can give me a headache very quickly if it's up too loud.
