aww man I just got the FFXI with HDD set but I can't open till christmas. and I will have to get the expansions later too. I want to see lots of stuff in WotG. The past areas look really cool.

I like how dancers can use their special abilities to heal and probably become a tank.

I want to see how Campaign is like. what level is recommended to fight in it?

Speaking of that driver, the HP provided version on the laptop seemed to up the performance for WoW. Haven't tried for FFXI yet.

Edit: FFXI doesn't lag out at the character selection screen on the laptop, and things seem a bit smoother, haven't had the change to visit whitegate to be sure thought.

I used to always get the Flash = Blind thing too, but as of yesterday when I got flashed by an Orc in Campaign, when it wore off it said "Malacite's Flash effect wears off."

Yes, but it's worth noting that the WotG packaging still cites DirectX 8.1 support as needed; if they expected to have DX9 out the door a month and a half after WotG's release, wouldn't they have at least put DirectX 9 support under the Recommended list?

I stated the difference already, the end result of both spells is Blind status. Flash just wears off sooner and happens to be stronger.

If they were in the end result blind status, then they wouldn't have 2 different effects, and one would overwrite the other. Therefore, they are not the same blind status, nor should be thought of as such. Flash is Flash, Blind and Blind. Sure Flash blinds you, but not as long or as how Blind would blind you. Bright white magic light blinds you! You're sight is blinded by blackmagic! >_>;

Flash is not Blind. One wearing off means I have to do something while the other doesn't. That Blind lasts longer the Flash only matters in the rare cases where they were cast essentially at the same time.

Yeah, Flash is not blind. It USED to be Blind, a terribly long time ago. S-E patched it. I'm talking like pre-CoP here though. I'm not even sure if it was pre-NA release or not.

But Flash is not blind, it's more of a reverse-blink, where you have a strong (80%) chance of missing an attack and wears off after 2-3 swings.

As long as I've been playing, post NA but pre NA-PS2 launch, it's always been the same.
