There's always going to be some residual maintinences and fixes after a major change, but something big happened there and screwed everything up. This is past the point of simple tweaks and adjustments, there is a major problem with the servers and the 5 hour emergency maintinence because of log in problem and zones not working is proof of that. Yes, there will be some fixes after a big change, but this is a little too much.

But on the otherhand, SE did do some MAJOR changes, in both hardware and software, to this game. Things which would only really let the problems come to light after they were put in. I guess this is the results of those changes.

Have to agree the QA work on FFXI has been rather bad. Not that it would deter us addicts... We'd keep playing this game as long as we can stay online long enough to fall asleep in Dynamis... zzZZZzzz....

Speaking of lousy QA, one of these days I have to send in a bug report about Flash; players on JP clients get a "no long under Flash effect" message when it wears off, but all I get is "____ is no long blinded" or something, which is confusing when someone used Kurayami or Blind.

On the plus side, free NMs! Now I just have to decide who to camp;

Leaping Lizzy, Valkurm Emperor, Eastern/Western Shadow, or Mee Deggi... all of the above of course have items I want badly @ _ @ (well, I can rule out LL, she's a fairly low priority.) I'm also not sure on V-Bow since O-Bow tends to best in EXP and well, Hellfire +1 + Velocity Shot = murder

Didn't they change out multiple servers to accomodate the Mog House changes, the windower and the DXwhatevernumberhere update?

DX9 update never happened. They cited some kind of hardware change wrt Mog House changes, but I seem to recall that that was a past hardware change that made them confident in their ability to do this? Not sure, maybe it was new servers. I suspect that if there was a connection there, though, that we'd have people reporting Mog House related issues.

Considering said spells all blind the target, how is this confusing? Flash is just more potent and more temporary, but its still Blind. What does SE's QA have to do with this?

Flash and Blind are not the same status effect, so given the message "X is no longer blinded," which wore off?

Yar, you can have Flash and Blind at the same time. Blind either wears on its own or when blindna is cast. Flash is so quick, by the time you cast Blindna or Erase, it wears a second before it. They just give the same message when it wears naturally.

Umm, for NA client thats how its always been for flash/blind/kurayami.

But for all purposes, it's not much of a deal considering that if a mob was just flashed and you get that message 10-15s later, it was obviously regarding the flash.

Blind and Kurayami are the same ailment, for help info and share the status icon in the bar. Flash uses the same icon, but different help info, therefore another icon @_@;

This is all true, it's just slightly irritating when you know one client has a better message for it and someone just couldn't be bothered to fix it in the other clients.

Please stop it with the math problems so early in the morning. I spent all day yesterday crunching numbers to get some paperwork done, and if it wasn't because I had moral support throuout the day my last 3 braincells would've been fried.
