The artistic abilities of our fans are second to none, here's a chance to prove it!
We'd love to see your fan art at our Fan Festival! Send in your creations, be they pencil, pen and ink, paints, clay, chalk, or even macaroni. Your medium is your choice. Finalist artworks are displayed during Fan Festival and winners will be selected by majority attendee votes (paper/box submission). There are two contest categories: Drawing for pictures, paints, computer graphics, etc. and crafting for sculptures, figures, woodwork, etc. After completing your creation send it by e-mail or postal mail to Square Enix, Inc.

So bust out that easel, fashion that smock, poke your thumb through the palette and paint us some happy little trees, with a couple Tarutarus sitting in it.

Drawing Category Rules: 1. Entry period begins Monday October 1, 2007, and ends Sunday October 28, 2007 2. Each individual can submit a limit of 1 entry 3. Entries must be submitted in a high resolution ".jpg," file 4. Entries can be submitted by download or sent by CD/DVD to Square Enix, Inc. 5. All submissions will be considered, but Square Enix will choose the finalists to be displayed during Fan Festival. Finalists will be notified prior to Fan Festival of their entries being displayed

SQUARE ENIX OWNERSHIP OF ENTRIES

All entries and other materials (the "Entry Materials"), including all copyright, trademark, and other proprietary rights associated therewith, submitted by you become the property of Square Enix upon submission, and Entry Materials will not be returned to any entrant. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, you acknowledge that Square Enix will own all rights to use, modify, and make derivative works of the Entry Materials, without separate compensation to you or any other person or entity. You agree to take, at Square Enix's expense, any further action (including, without limitation, execution of affidavits and other documents) reasonably requested by Square Enix to effect, perfect or confirm Square Enix's ownership rights as set forth above in this paragraph. Entry materials may be used by contestants only for purposes of the Contest or for private, personal, non-public viewing. Entry materials received by Square Enix may be destroyed by Square Enix at any time following the Contest.

Come dressed up as your favorite FINAL FANTASY XI character and demonstrate your best move up on stage!



Last year's Fan Festival was full of adventurers in costume, this year we're hoping for an even larger turnout!
Dress up in your best subligar, aketon, or scorpion harness and compete with others for wonderful prizes and a chance to strut your stuff personally up on stage for audience applause. Even if you have a case of stage fright, bring your best props and costumes and get in the spirit of this our most exciting event yet!

Costume Contest Rules: 1. No edged weapons, firearms, or actual crushing weapons are allowed. Plastic, wooden, or inflatable items are accepted 2. All contestants will be considered, but Square Enix will choose the finalists on stage during Fan Festival

Adventurers once again can submit fan movies for a chance at great prizes!



Send in your cinematic masterpiece from any genre! Last year's submissions were very impressive, but with the release of the Treasures of Aht Urhgan expansion, we know there are a lot more stories to be told. We want to show off the best film submissions on the big screen at our event.
The grand adventures of brave corsairs on the high seas or the mysterious journeys of a lone blue mage are just a couple examples of the movies we hope to see this year. Tell your story, and you could be the one that wins in November!

Movie Contest Rules: 1. Entry period begins Monday October 1, 2007, and ends Sunday October 28, 2007 2. Each contestant can submit a limit of 1 entry 3. Entries must be submitted in ".wmv" files with 640x480 resolution. Movie files may not be longer than 3 minutes or exceed 100 megabytes in size 4. Entries can be submitted by download or sent by CD/DVD to Square Enix, Inc. 5. Entries must contain only materials that are (a) original works from the contestants, (b) in-game FINAL FANTASY XI footage, or (c) in-game FINAL FANTASY XI music, or some combination of (a), (b), and (c). FINAL FANTASY XI music featuring artist vocals are not allowed 6. All movies will be considered, but Square Enix will choose the finalist entries to be screened during Fan Festival 2007. Finalists will be notified prior to Fan Festival of their entries being screened

No, it requires FRAPS, which they've already said is perfectly ok. In fact it was used for the last fan fest's video contest.
