March seems to be the Community Relations month for SquareEnix, 1 year ago from tomorrow was the beginning of the Final Fantasy XI Fan Festival 2006. (And we just had a Summit at the beginning of this month.) Time goes surprisingly fast and much has happened since then. For those that missed the Final Fantasy XI Fan Festival of 2006, you might want to go take a look at the pictures in the photo gallery here: http://www.ffxionline.com/cpg/ For those that did go, you may want to post of your fondest memories of the FFXI Fan Festival of 2006. If you remember any funny adventures on the Festival Live Quest, be sure to share them with everyone here. (Of all the time covering the Fan Festival, I didn't get a chance to complete the live quest, only completed a few.) I meant to include scans of things that may have been of interest to the community that did not go. The schedule, the live quests, and I probably should have asked if I could have that giant box of completed live quest forms to scan a few for everyone to look at. Some of the trivia is rather difficult to answer.... well, I have a few things here. The first is the Fan Festival schedule and map book. Back and Front: ![]() The Inside pages: ![]() The next item is the Adventurer Coupon for the live quest: ![]() The Member Introduction Sheet: ![]() Party Roster for the live quest: ![]() And finally on the live quest under "Teacher's Pet", you are quizzed on the game, Version C of the quiz is provided here. See how many can you answer. PLEASE put the SPOILER tags around any answer you may give away. ![]() Sorry, I am not going to scan the "gil" they were handing out. Don't want to inflate the economy with duped gil by gil sellers. Well, hope to see you at the next Final Fantasy XI event! All images on this post copyright 2002-2006, SQUARE ENIX CO., LTD. Request: Next festival on the East coast. Like near Raleigh. No reason, just a random city. Just trying since SE does seem to be reading the forums. |

I'm not really a fan of festivals. Especially fan festivals. But if it were like, here in my city and I didn't have to travel, I'd probably check it out.

It'd be nice if they had it in the middle somewhere...and preferably during the summer or something, so that I could actually get to go. :D Althought it also depends on how far it was...they should do it in Texas, yea Texas is the best anyway.

I went to a gaming convention back in the early 90s. It wasn't really my scene. But maybe things like this are different now.

What was the gaming convention like? I've been to anime conventions a few times, and those are pretty awesome, tons of anime to buy, and watch. Random other stuff to buy and see...concerts, cosplayers, it's a lot of fun if you're actually into anime.

It was for things like tabletop gaming, and such. Miniature battles (like Warhammer and Warhammer 40k), D&D, Shadowrun, White Wolf stuff, etc. There was a room for anime stuff, and I don't know, some other things. It was vaguely lame. I mean, I had an ok time, because I was really into that stuff at the time, but now? Not so much.

I've only really done media sci-fi cons (far too many of those), and also Worldcon last time it was in the UK. Never even considered a gaming con...

I think the one I went to was NorseCon? I dunno. GenCon was probably more enjoyable.

WTF? Home of the Texas A&M Aggies? I could not think of a worse place to have a convention dealing with FFXI, RPGs, etc. than Aggie-land. They probably thought it was going to be about Madden, Halo, (insert random sports/shooter game played by drunken rednecks) and proceded to beat people randomly like a roaming pack of wild boars. Oh wait, I get it now. RL Besieged! Defend the festival from the Barefoot Horde! | |
