Weekends there are 3.5k+ online unless it's time for finals and stuff, those days the population drops a little.
BTW was your coment supposed to mark the end of XI or something? Are you still playing the game or just wanted to say something against it?

Lowest it was last night was 1500. Honestly in all my running around i was wondering if the playerbase was just scattered. I just remember last year at this time it was well over 3k.

I still play, but not like i once did. My crafts are all 60 or higher. my jobs are all 37 or higher. So im usually on to help my younger shell members get further in the game to injoy things., So i do Z runs an missions, CoP runs, an Dynamis if i have to. Solo alot of AF's for them.

if the stats on http://www.ffxiah.com/ are correct, there are 685,387 players across the game.

I always thought XI had only around 500k players. I wonder what's been the highest amount of players on FF to date.

Is WoW losing people? I thought they were doing good.

Re: Announcing Vana'diel Collection 2007 for Windows! (10/06/2006)

I think LN may just be delusional. There hasn't been a noticiable decline in the FFXI population anywhere but on his server, apparently.

Maybe they are trying to tell him something.

Anyway - Topic!

Smart packaging on SE's part. People hate buying multiple boxes for things, and $30 is a sweet price for the game and all of it's expansions. For those who may try and make a WoW comparison, I'd like to point out that WoW is now currently $19.99 in anticipation of it's new expansion. It's just smart business to lower the price. Companies like this make their money on subscriptions, not new game purchases.

If they are repackaging with all 3 expansions I hope hey have included all the pol and FF updates up to the date this DVD was created. Otherwise you will still have to do teh 2+hours updating, would make sense if they did add tehm then you'd only have to spend 30 minutes downloading the last 3 months of updates.

They likely have, Jarre. I bought the earlier Vanadiel collection earlier this year and my updates were far shorter than what I'd had with the original disks.

Well, those 150k subscribers that quit between July '05 and July '06 had to come from somewhere. MMoG chart lists subscriptions dropping from 650k to 500k, a number which was confirmed by S-E in their census.

As to the numbers on FFXIAH, you can't use that as a comparison because the figures are grossly overinflated with mules.

I was referring to his claims of having only 1500-2000 people on his server at any given time. Every server that I have played on or that I know people on only see numbers that low right after a maintenance ends. So either he's lying, or his server is some sort of anomaly.

I'm aware of the decline in overall subscriptions though. Thanks.

Oh, well you're on Cerberus. No wonder. That server sucks.

Seriously though, that's still weird. Bahamut is consistently at or around 3k. A bit lower at weird times that aren't anyone's primetime, but generally never lower than 2k.

In that case your post should have been clearer to avoid ambiguity especially considering you were suggesting Little Ninja is delusional, which is very close to being considered a flame. As to server numbers, I know Fenrir's has also declined noticeably of late as evidenced by an increasing number of goodbye posts and discussions with friends still playing. It may turn out your server has a steady player level while the majority of the others are losing them. As I said, those 150k subscribers had to come from somewhere and if all servers have the same population numbers, circa 3-4k at most times excluding right after maintenance, as they did a year ago then something quite magical must be taking place.

Re: Announcing Vana'diel Collection 2007 for Windows! (10/06/2006)

My post was clear enough for anyone who isn't going out of their way to try and find fault with it. But that doesn't include you, so of course you would misconstrue what I was trying to say.

I found his claim incredibly hard to believe based on my (and other's) experiences with the game. I don't think it was all that unreasonable to say so. He has since posted a pic proving that his server is indeed suffering from low numbers, but that still seems to be an exception rather than the norm.

If you have any further problems with what I have to say, just PM it to me, please. There is absolutely no reason to clutter up the forum with your little digs.

It obviously wasn't clear enough or I wouldn't have made the point. As to the paranoid accusation I've singled you out for humiliation I'll leave that well alone.

It wasn't. Implying he was delusional was.

Nah, I'll post on here thank you. As to cluttering up the forums, a few points. Firstly, you aren't a moderator or someone whose opinion I overly give a damn about. Secondly, I make probably 5-10 posts a week on here as opposed to the 3200 you have amassed in roughly three months, I don't think I'm the one in danger of cluttering up anything. Lastly, anyone taking a cursory glance through your posts will see more than enough little digs at people, at least three on this thread alone. You should practice what you preach lest you be accused of hypocrisy.

By all means, PM me if you want to discuss anything for fear of cluttering up the forums though.

Re: Announcing Vana'diel Collection 2007 for Windows! (10/06/2006)

This is what I was referring too. A simple news post about repackaged software turned into the same old flame thread and trolling about people leaving the game and low number on the server.

Overall I'm sure numbers are starting to decline. They declined a lot when WoW came out too. On Valefor I really haven't noticed much of a difference. There's usually 2500-3000 people online and that's typically where it's been as long as I can remember.
