I would assume the plans are just in order, so say Plan 0 is basic care for 2 days, after 2 days it goes to plan 1 say it's listen to music for 5 days then after that I'm not sure

Right. That's what I was thinking at first. Something along the lines of plan 0= eating,plan 1= music, plan 2= walking alone, plan 3= competing.....but there are at least *ten things that your chocobo can do, so this can't be the case.

Well I believe that they are using the chocobo raising as you raise a kid, which my Fiancee (sorry I can't spell that word) is very good at raising kids. And I I have only the basics and some knowledge on how to raise one. Basically what you want from your kid (bad for me to say but most parents think it). I like mine to be strong and self standing and yes I will be there to see him grow.

the plans are when your chocobo will do those things


So if you want your choco to listen to music for 3 days, deliver packages for two, rest for 4, and then play with children for 3, Plan 1 = Music, Plan 2 = Deliver paakages, Three = Rest, four =play with children.

the amount of days is how long your chocobo will stay doing that.

of this I am 98% sure

Ok, so I'm new to this particular forum, but here is what I know:

There are 5 known chocobo egg types right now.

3 of them can be bought in Jeuno's Ru' Lude Gardens from Dabih Jajalioh (who is standing down the steps from the AH) for 1040 gil each:

Chocobo Egg - feels a bit warm to the touch
Chocobo Egg - feels slightly warm to the touch
Chocobo Egg - feels faintly warm to the touch

Okay, so this reply was a lot longer and I had written a walkthrough for the Chocobo On The Loose! quest to get a free egg, but for whatever reason, that's gone now. I'm really tired and I'm gonna sleep now, when I get up I'll re-write it and post it.

I dont think there is a differene. I reckon it will change from basic care when the chocobo comes out of the egg. But for now all my chocobo can do is wobble arond in the egg :-(

When the chocobo is in an egg there is only one option you can select for the plans. As it grows more options become available for the plans. There is an NPC at each stable that explains this.

Ah... I think I get it now. I was confused on what the different care plans were, but I'm betting we have to wait for the egg to hatch before we can actually set them up. So right now we just set up the basic care plan and watch over the egg.

One question I have is why the different types of eggs? Are they for different types of choco, colors, or maybe even hatching times?

I bought the "bit warm" egg from the NPC. Then proceeded to watch over it 6 times in a row. My choco is going to be a spoiled brat I think.

biggest problem with this is no one knows anything about the effects.
but i can answer some common questions that seem to keep coming up.
the care packages:
what the care package is (once your choco is old enough to use it) is a timed schedule in which you set for each day how much time is devoted to walking, talking to other chocobos, etc. you can have up to four plans set at once for periods of up to seven days.

The problem is, I don't know what basic care plan 0-3 are. Is care plan 0 walking chocobo? talking to other chocobos? etc.

Maybe they'll better explain it when it hatches.

the plan numbers arent a preset plan as far as i can tell. there just set 1,2,3 etc.
you go into these plans once your chocobo is capable. and basically, the plan you create is /save as plan 1, plan 2, plan 3, etc.

Please tell me where it states that plan one is music, plan 2 is packages, and so on. (You forgot to mention plan 0)

I understand what you're saying, but we can't say for sure what activity is assigned to each plan yet
