Re: Chocobo Breeding Announced
So say 200g a chocobo (Not played in ages so Im assuming theyre more likely to still be 600-2000g each) but anyway, 200g a choco. Player uses it 10 times a day, thats 2000g. 3000 players, average kind of, do this a day so thats 60 000g. In a month thats 180 000 000g. Thats alot of money I guess you could say. Numbers arnt an exact representation obviously but I think you get the point.

That's the point of breaking the economy. There is very few sources in this game that actually takes out gil. The AH only takes out gil in the form of a Tax players pay to put it in the AH, the other money is only being shifted around not actually removed.

That is why killing the stables would be bad there has to be outlets were money is removed from the game not conserved.

Double Post Edited:
They did what I was kind of conserned about though, can breed chocobo with another player's chocobo... Oh so many dirty comments that I know we'll be seeing coming from that.

If they do let you ride your chocobo, then how I'd see it being done is there being a calling device of a single use. Something that is EX and you buy from the chocobo stables, that helps for the gil to source out still. Though I would imagine the device's price would end up somewere around 5k per one.

Also the part that caught my attention is the "each egg coded with their own stats". This sounds like as each egg object is generated it gets a random roll on set stats, so very rare results would be result of every stat getting a roll of a high number.

Re: Chocobo Breeding Announced
As stated, they could have you "rent" your personal chocobo from the stables, or implement some other equivalent fee to keep the economy balanced. So they either haven't thought of that or it's not the reason they're not allowing it. My guess? They don't want to have to screw with having different chocobo models in the existing zones. The chocobo circuit will probably be in its own new zone.

They wouldn't be out of work they would just hire themselves out as personal trainers. Chocobo trainer to the rich and fameous 100,000 Gil a day.

If you are planning a rent were you purchase like 7 rl days and get to use chocobo as much as you want, that still is breaking the economy. It has to be a decent fee and charged by each use of the chocobo. The closest resembling I could see if something like what you get with the Manaclipper, you can purchase a single ticket or a multiple ticket.

Something to that effect with the chocobo would work for this like 'rent' idea because the price varies then by the quantity of uses that person purchases. Say the use is the fee for time of use of the stables equipment to ride the chocobo.

Re: Chocobo Breeding Announced
But if you got your green chocobo instead of the standerd yellow one each time you got one from a stable, that would'nt break the economy.

No that wouldn't, the thing the people here are trying to 'complain' or want is for the chocobo to be callable were ever they want and pay cheaper then the Chocobo Stables. They are looking for a way to circumvent the economy, which circumvent is the same as breaking it.

No, I meant the same sort of chocobo fee they have now. Instead of renting one of the stable's chocobos, you pay to ride yours. I put rent in quotes because I couldn't think of a good word for that; it wouldn't really be rent since it's your chocobo.

Re: Chocobo Breeding Announced
I think if they just gave chocobos a maintainence cost, like feeding them every day or whenever you used them, that would replace the gil sink at the chocobo stables.

Personally, being able to ride my own chocobo in races would be good enough for me.
