Chocobo Breeding Announced

....I really doubt they will make something this wanted that difficult to obtain. If you look at many of the new Toau items, you can get a LOT of great gear and itesm for relatively little effort. Hell one of the arguably best DD head gears in game now is also something you see on every other player because it's so easy to get.

To get the initial egg, it will most likely be very easy. Think of the NPC quest, other then some initial footwork the entire quest is simple and the only requirement is being rank 4. Seeing as how well that worked out, aside from the initial long lines from everyone wanting to be the 'first' to get one, I'm sure SE will do something similar. It will most likely be a quest with a basic requirement that any job can solo at a decent lvl.

Now supplies to raise and maintain your chocobo, that's where the high prices will come in. Now I'm sure many items will be sold from NPC vendors, which won't be able to be camped or bought out, but some other items may be obtainable via player effort only. I see harvesting becoming a big issue with Choco raising as SE will probably add all sorts of new 'Greens' to the game.

There won't be any HNMs and any mob drops needed will either be plentiful to the point you won't be able to gouge the prices or highly rare, but also highly optional.

As long as you can get a red or black chocobo itll be all right :D I hope its really like FF7s as well. It was so much fun once I understood it .

Wow... I think this feature is something 95% of the FFXI community was asking for! I dont think SE will make this soooo difficult. What I DO see, is that they will make it something you will work to obtain to keep us entertained!

Actually, come to think of it, this is probably just for chocobo racing. I'm kind of doubting you can ride your own chocobo.

Maybe you can only ride them in races? If you cant ride them "eventually" itll be so stupid and a waste of time. Its like pimpin out your PC and playing pacman on it o.O

Hiromichi Tanaka is the creator of FFXI so I'm confident he knows what he's talking about.

So there isn't anyone hoping that they will be able to ride their chocobo around Vana'diel and then complain later that they can't, he's put an end to the rumor.

Just have the chocobo you get from the stables be your own one, wouldnt change economy.

I dont see having your own chocobo will affect the economy.....
